Live in Glenorchy vs Kingston, work is near University of Tas
Hi. I will be moving to Tas. I will be working near the uni at Sandy Bay, and I’m considering renting either North or South.
Considered Glenorchy just because there are more rentals that appeal to me on Realestate.com but google maps suggest that commute time can be twice the usual (30-40 mins) going to and from work. The usual 12-20 mins is acceptable but 40 mins in slow moving traffic daily might drive me nuts. I could go to a gym after like in Salamanca but that will also be peak hey. Would finding parking be an issue?
I also considered Kingston. According to googlemaps commute to and from should barely be affected by traffic and peak hours, but apparently the road can have ice and accidents and can basically roadblock it instantly? AI also said Kingston is very windy - how windy? I’d like to be outdoors enjoying cafes and the backyard when i’m not at work or exploring more rural areas.
