Sam&#^#ha john$^on raine and horne northern suburbs moonah

Well seems as not many people know about Samantha johnston raine and horne northern suburbs moonah.

Lets information you all.

Samantha johnston was called to have a look at my house at claremont.

She showed up on time. And that where the skills ended.

I asked her to appraise my house so I would know roughly what it was worth.

She wondered around aimlessly pretending to make notes on her phone.

Not realising I could actually see the screen every so often.

The only notes she was making was messaging a friend about her Friday night experience at a place called St albis, which I know of as we often go for dinner there on Friday nights.

I had trouble reading most of the texts as she was pretending to look around my extensive property while texting but every so often I would catch a glance here and there and viewed a lot of abuse and expletives about someone she had a run in with.

Not really being interested in my property at all she noticed I was very close and glazing at her phone when she suddenly placed the phone in her pocket and proceeded to say "well you have a lot of space here and potential for expansion "

I agreed and she indicated that she had another appointment to go to.

I said "so when do you think I will know about a estimate for my property"

Her answer was " I should have a rough idea the next few days and i will get back to you with an evaluation "

2 weeks later she called me on my phone and gave the evaluation which was well below the price I had paid for the property.

Samantha indicated that "the market at the moment is in a reverse spiral and that the property would be better rented for a reasonable price"

I then said to Samantha that" i dont want to rent it i need to sell it so I can invest in a larger property at seven mile Beach as I want to turn it into a air bnb "

Samantha added a comment saying" seven mile Beach has sewage problems and that the area isnt highly regarded as a place of interest for high returns in the air bnb market"

I disagreed with Samantha saying "thats where I want to invest"

Samantha then added " you really dont know much about investing if thats where you want to invest"

I was appalled at the comments and asked Samantha that I would go through another real estate agency then .

Samantha lost the plot and began to act quite threatening towards my comment with statements like" what would you know".

" and what agency would bother with your time wasting anyway"

" i dont have time to be fu$%ing around with you you old bit#h"

I was totally beside myself.

My husband heard the comments and asked Samantha to leave post haste.

Samantha said" fu$k up you old c$%t and go back to the old persons home you geriatric old co$khe@d".

We both asked Samantha to leave as we had enough of her unprofessional behaviour.

She abused us all the way to the door with comments "if you know anything about real estate which you dont fu$%wits"

"Good luck selling this boxof sh$%"

My husband was going to call raine and horne to complain.

I asked him not to kick the hornets nest.

Part 2 soon

Spider enclosure help

My brother is in desperate need for a pet spider enclosure as the opening hinge has busted. He got this particular one online but we don't want to wait weeks for a new one to arrive. Is there anything around locally where we can buy and replace it?

Karting in Tasmania - Beginner Query

Can anyone offer advice to a 40 year old with no experience looking to get into karting in Tasmania? I'd like to start just doing practice laps for a while before considering racing.

If I buy a cart, are there tracks that are open for free practice time in Tasmania, not necessarily races.

I'm not interested in the hire kart experiences aimed at bucks parties and the like.

I'm drawing Hobart's coffee scene - last week things got a bit weird

I'm a Hobart local who's been drawing café shopfronts around the city in ink and watercolour for a couple of years. I want to capture the vibe of the coffee scene in an urban cool kind of way.

Last week I shared a pic of it on insta and it kind of exploded - even Pulse Tasmania and ABC radio found me!

The comments turned into the most wholesome Hobart café rabbit hole. People weren't just dropping names - they were genuinely yapping with me about why their spot matters. Local barista legends, coffee with a window seat, community.

A few people told me I needed to get on the Hobart Reddit thread to ask about the best coffee spots so here I am - hello! 👋

I'm still adding to my collection - what spots need to be drawn?

Regular activities or groups to sign up for in the Hobart area

Hi there,

My therapist is urging me to sign up for groups / regular activities as I've become quite insular. I'm very much a homebody who isn't necessarily anxious but I am on the quieter side. Depression can make it hard to be interested in anything so I'm also struggling with that aspect of it.

I'm a 29 year old female. I play the piano. I paint. I'm an avid collector of rare indoor plants. I play video games. I like photography - so if there's an opportunity to get great pictures then that's cool too.

I was wondering if anybody knew of anything around or perhaps been in similar circumstances and found something helpful?

Why is it impossible to find a decent rental that allows pets down here?

I have been searching for a basic two bedroom unit around Moonah or Glenorchy and every single listing has a strict no animals policy. I have got a ten year old cat who literally spends the entire day sleeping on a rug, not a giant Great Dane. It feels like landlords would rather leave a place completely empty than trust a local tenant with a clean record

Stop the Airbnb rort

“In Hobart in particular, the number of frequently available whole-property Airbnb listings in December 2024 outnumbered long-term rental vacancies by 36 to one. More than half (57 per cent) of Airbnb listings nationally were managed by accounts that had at least two properties.

“Hobart, Australia’s smallest state capital, also has the highest concentration of short-term rentals. It had a long-term rental vacancy rate of 0.2 per cent in the March quarter, the lowest in the country, Domain data shows.

“It also had the biggest jump in median weekly house rents, up by 7.8 per cent annually.”

Anyone else finding it hard to make genuine friends in Hobart?

Early 30s and have been in Hobart a few years now. I work remotely, which I think can make meeting people a bit harder, and I’ve found building genuine friendships here harder than expected.

I’ve put myself out there a bit and tried a few groups/activities already, but I think I connect better in more natural settings rather than structured meetups and still haven’t quite found my people.

I’ve generally never had much trouble building friendships in other places I’ve lived or travelled, so I’ve found Hobart a bit harder to navigate socially than I expected.

Pretty active, enjoy getting outdoors, trying new places, getting out for a drink, and generally getting out and doing things.

Keen to meet people around a similar stage of life, hear what’s worked for others around Hobart, or connect if anyone’s in a similar boat.

Where were these nightclubs located?

At a reunion the other night and we all had different recollections about the location of these two nightclubs that were a bit 'last resort' but a lot of fun in the late 1980s.
- Club Dimension
- The Babylon
What is in their place now is what we're trying to figure out.

Can see my “borrowed” AirPods on Find My. Anyone rocked up at the location to retrieve their item before?

Any advice? I can see they work in ABC building and live in Glebe.

Should I just leave a note?

(If you’re reading this…well you know what to do)

Thoughts on tailgating?!

Hey everyone, i’m a graphic design student at TAFE SA researching about road safety in Australia, specifically targeted at tailgating and drivers or passengers between the age of 17-25 years.

If you are 17-25 years old and have a spare 5 minutes to anonymously complete the survey it would be much appreciated.

The information will be used for a student project to create a road safety campaign. Student work may be selected by Re:act (non-for-profit) and displayed around Adelaide with the aim to prevent death and injury on our roads from crashes caused by tailgating.
