Company laptop won't let me screen record meetings. Any legitimate alternatives?
Hi everyone,
I'm working at D consulting firm, and my company-issued Windows laptop won't allow any kind of screen recording.
I've already tried:
- Windows + Alt + R (Xbox Game Bar)
- PowerPoint screen recording
- Snipping Tool screen recording
- Other built-in Windows recording methods
None of them work, and I believe they're blocked by my organization's IT policies.
My goal isn't to record anything confidential or bypass company security. I simply want to review my own internal meetings later so I can improve my understanding and take better notes.
Has anyone else run into this on a corporate-managed laptop?
Are there any legitimate, company-compliant options for reviewing meetings later? For example:
- Microsoft Teams settings or built-in features
- Live transcription
- Meeting recap tools
- Other approved methods
I'd appreciate any suggestions from people who've dealt with this in a corporate environment. Thanks!
