Company laptop won't let me screen record meetings. Any legitimate alternatives?

Hi everyone,

I'm working at D consulting firm, and my company-issued Windows laptop won't allow any kind of screen recording.

I've already tried:

  • Windows + Alt + R (Xbox Game Bar)
  • PowerPoint screen recording
  • Snipping Tool screen recording
  • Other built-in Windows recording methods

None of them work, and I believe they're blocked by my organization's IT policies.

My goal isn't to record anything confidential or bypass company security. I simply want to review my own internal meetings later so I can improve my understanding and take better notes.

Has anyone else run into this on a corporate-managed laptop?

Are there any legitimate, company-compliant options for reviewing meetings later? For example:

  • Microsoft Teams settings or built-in features
  • Live transcription
  • Meeting recap tools
  • Other approved methods

I'd appreciate any suggestions from people who've dealt with this in a corporate environment. Thanks!

New Deloitte PDM hire looking for advice after project changes

Hi everyone,

I'm a relatively new hire in Deloitte's Project Delivery Model (PDM) as a Senior Analyst, and I'm looking for some advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

When I accepted the offer, I was told that I would be supporting a long-term client engagement. Shortly after joining, that opportunity was put on hold. More recently, I was aligned with another client opportunity, but I was informed that the client decided not to move forward with my profile.

I understand that these decisions are based on client needs and business priorities, so I'm not frustrated with anyone. Since I'm still new to the firm, I haven't had enough time to build a strong internal network, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to move forward.

For those who have gone through something similar:

  • Is this a common experience in the PDM model?
  • What's the best way to find another project?
  • How proactive should I be in reaching out to Resource Managers, Talent Business Advisors, coaches, and hiring managers?
  • Any tips for improving my chances of getting staffed on a new engagement?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice you can share. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I recently joined Deloitte as a PDM resource (Java Full Stack) and it’s been about 2 weeks since I started. I’ve completed onboarding, DLaunch, and set up my profiles (ToD, MySource, etc.), but I still haven’t been assigned to any project.

I also don’t see anything in MySource or future opportunities yet, which is making me a bit anxious since some of my peers already got staffed.

Is this normal for PDM roles? How long does it usually take to get your first project?

Also, any tips on how to:

  • Network internally
  • Reach out to the right people (RM, deployment managers, etc.)
  • Improve chances of getting staffed faster

Would really appreciate any advice from folks who’ve been through this. Thanks!
