WTF?!

Looking for advice here. On one of the only wheels I don’t have true curb rash it looks like there’s plastic over the silver part of the wheel that has cracked and is peeling. What is this??

The wheels I actually have curb rash on don’t have broken plastic like this which would make the most sense where the wheel is already damaged.

I am including two photos of the plastic situation and two photos of a wheel with curb rash that doesn’t appear to have this plastic.

Concerned how screwed I’m going to be for the lease return. The plastic is cracked and it’s accumulating dirt and water so I’m considering just breaking it off but not sure if that will be worse. I have tire and wheel protection so before turning the car in I can have the curb rash repaired but don’t think this plastic shit is repairable like that.

Chevy EV Extended Warranty

Given that the bumper to bumper warranty is so short at 3/36 I’m wondering if anyone here has gotten the EV extended warranty specifically from Chevy.

I am going to be buying a used 2025 Chevy Silverado EV RST - originally I was trying to target ones with 2/3 of the bumper to bumper warranty left but not sure it matters with this extended warranty. I’m asking specifically about the one Chevy offers because it can be serviced by any qualifying Chevy dealership and I will likely buy the car out of state so I have no value buying some random warranty preferred by that dealer.

For any that have, I have the following questions.

  1. Term and cost? (I know it varies by deductible, when you buy and probably varies by dealer but just looking to get a basis for what I might be looking at).
  2. Have you used it? Thoughts?
  3. Did you wait until the end of your bumper to bumper to buy it (I think you have to get it with at least 1k miles and 30 days left of original warranty).
  4. If you didn’t wait until near the end of your bumper to bumper, is it your understanding the term runs alongside your manufacturers warranty or starts after?

The reason I’m bringing this to Reddit is to get some real world advice. I do plan on contacting a random dealer and seeing if they will quote but might be hard to get info when I don’t have the car yet but I still want to know approximately what it would cost and if I should keep targeting cars with the most warranty left possible or keep it open to get the best possible deal.

Lease Return Question

I have a 24 RS AWD with lease return due in October. I was wondering if anyone that has turned in their car can tell me if you’re required to return the charger with the car?

I am planning to replace it with a used 25 Silverado EV RST and trying to figure out if I need to budget for a new charger. Eventually I will buy a faster charger for home but to start I just want to charge on a 50amp outlet.
