How do you all get such cute photos of kittens?

It's time for me to submit photos to the rescue, and all I have are blurs. These things do NOT sit still, or if they do it's when they're asleep on top of me and not a second before. Is there some secret wisdom you can share? The photos are the only thing holding them up from finding their homes at this point. I love them and all, but it's time for them to go 😅

He's such a clingy little turd

He will literally screm if he doesn't have constant access to me. I put them in their own room at night, and he just cries and cries every time, which is heartbreaking. He's not like this with my roommate. I honestly worry about him going to his forever home soon, but I know he'll be okay eventually.

His name is Bellamy, btw! That's Jasper next to him. Their brother Murphy is on my lap as I type this. Bottle babies are so nice once they grow up.

My cat is in very early renal failure; does she need the Rx food, or just low-phosphorous food?

I'm having trouble parsing this out online.

My cat is in very very early renal disease: her SDMA was a single point high, creatinine elevated, urine a bit dilute. I'm happy we caught it early. My issue is that she is an incredibly picky eater, but I did find something she will eat! It's Weruva Phos Focus, non-prescription. But my vet kind of made it sound like lower-protein foods were going to be the most beneficial for her renal health? So I'm a bit confused (I do know that cats are obligate carnivores, I also know that some diets have more protein than they technically need).

Would this food (0.4-0.5% phosphorous on a dry matter basis) be appropriate for her needs? Or should I try to get her into a prescription diet?

I do have a lot of other cats in the home and they're free-fed due to a range in age, so she will still be getting some of their kibble (Nulo all-ages formula) but I'm feeding the Weruva 1-2x daily right now.

She's a domestic shorthair, nearly 10 years old, spayed, also on fluoxetine for behavioral issues but no real concerns about her health besides her recent labs.

Thank you!!

3 month old foster kitten suckles on my fingers. Is this normal?

He latches on and suckles like it's a nipple. He does this several times per day. Ive never seen a cat do this before.

I feel like this is a bad habit that I should break. How do I get him to stop? He goes for my fingers very frequently when he comes up for cuddles, and he can be fairly insistent.

Red flag or normal?

I applied to a job (nursing, new grad) and got a call from a recruiter less than half an hour later. I have an interview tomorrow, which is incredibly short notice. I've literally never had an interview less than 24 hours from submitting an application, and I've been to dozens of interviews. They already took down the job posting.

Idk, for some reason this weirds me out. I'm used to waiting like a week to hear back. Would this weird you out, or should I chill?

Renal food for picky cats?

Hi all! My cat just got diagnosed with very early renal failure, her SDMA was only a point high, I need to see her bloodwork for the other values but they were borderline. It's very, very early. I'm grateful that we caught it.

My issue is that she doesn't like wet food very much 🙃 we can barely get her to pick at Kirkland salmon pate every night, she ignores everything else. There are sooooo many renal diets out there now. Where do I start? What should I try for her? I really need help, idk what else to do for this m̶o̶n̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ precious bean!

Both wet and dry. Idc about anything other than appeal. They're snubbing all of their food lately and it's driving me insane, but the rescue won't cover experimenting with a bunch of different kinds, and I'd rather not shop around *too* much when I can just ask!
