I'm trying to find a book I read as a kid. This would have been the late 90s, but I'm not sure when the book was published. It was about a middle school or junior high kid who built a potato battery for a science fair and the potato came to life and I think it controlled people's minds. I remember the cover art had a giant potato with a brain sticking up out of the top. It was a chapter book for kids, sort of the same reading level as Goosebumps.

Also, there's a parody song from the book that sticks out in my memory. To the tune of 'That's Amore:'

When the Moon hits your toe,

Like a big potato,

That's so sore, eh?

That's all I can remember.
