Im from peru and I going to lollapalooza for my first time alone

Hi everyone, I'm from Peru and I'm 19 years old. I'm traveling to Chicago around that time and I'm really keen to go to Lopaloza. It would be my first time at a concert, and the fact that my first one is Lollapalooza is exciting but also a little scary. I'm traveling with my mom, so I'll be going alone. How can I make friends? Any recommendations or is it impossible lol?

Also, I like the headliners, but I'm not a huge fan, so I'm thinking of going to see Sombr or Charlie XX just for their hits, lol. By the way, I only plan to go for one day since I also want to do some sightseeing in chicago. Thanks!

im torwn between two destinations: orlando or chicago?

Hey everyone!

I’m planning a trip with my mom from July 23rd to August 3rd (around 11–12 days total), and I’m having a massive dilemma with our itinerary. I’d love to get your reality checks and recommendations on this.

Option 1 (The original plan):

  • Fly into Miami.
  • Take a 5-day Royal Caribbean cruise.
  • Once we get back, spend the remaining 4–5 days in Orlando because i want to vistiir harry potter world

The issue: I feel like a 5-day cruise is going to eat up way too much of our time. It leaves us with a super rushed, high-stress marathon in Orlando between the driving/traveling, the summer heat/rain

Option 2 (The alternative): I’ve always wanted to visit Chicago, but I know 11 days there is probably too much for a first-time visit. So, I’m thinking about skipping Miami and the cruise entirely and doing a Chicago + Orlando split.

I could do about 4 days in Chicago (I hear summer is the absolute best time to visit for the architecture tours and walking around) and then catch a domestic flight to Orlando for the remaining 7 days.

What would you do in my position given the 11-day timeframe? Is the Florida + cruise combo worth the tight schedule, or is the Chicago + Orlando contrast a better, more balanced trip to do with my mom?

Thanks in advance for the help!
