Okay you can tell me off but this is what I use and mostly in cold wash. I use a front loader. I can’t see a problem and everything seems clean. The machine has no smell or build up. The laundry smells fresh. If needed for whites I might add some bleach and do a long wash or a hot one. Is it because everything is dried outside in the Australian sun? Is it because we wear everything just once especially in hot weather so nothing really get dirty? I am thinking it’s these factors and hanging in the line is the winner. I just use a capful and I don’t perceive a build up of detergent in the clothes.
