how do you keep your house so clean?

I (34F) remember that, as a child, our house was always spotless. surfaces clean, not a crumb on the floor, toys put away in our room, absolutely no clutter. my stepmother did all the cleaning, we had to put our toys away. i'm no contact with my parents, but my in-laws' house is also always spotless and that's how my husband (35M) grew up with 2 siblings.

i feel guilty i can't offer this for my children. it's not a safety hazard by any means like you see on some tiktok or youtube videos, but there are always crumbs/dirt on the floor, tables cluttered, kitchen full of clutter (even a couple of hours after cleaning). my daughter (8F) doesn't mind, my son (6M) says he would like it cleaner (though he's the one spilling the most food on the table/floor). i constantly need de remind them to clean up after them (husband included). we're a neurodivergent family after all.

i'm a misremembering how it really was, or am i only now seeing all the details i didn't as a kid. we don't often visit other houses, never unexpectetly, but they definitely are way cleaner than ours. i don't even feel like an adult and wonder how people manage to keep their house so clean.
