Is this course load manageable for an incoming freshman?

I want to make sure my schedule is light enough to where I can adjust to Yale’s academics. I also have a discussion section on Friday for microeconomics from 9:25-10:15am.

MATH 1200 Questions as incoming freshman

Does anyone have any tips for MATH 1200? Everyone online seems to be saying that it’s very hard unless you’re some sort of math genius. I just got placed into it since I got a 5 on Calc BC but I’m not one of those guys who does math comps daily. Also, for this semester, why is John Hall the only teacher for all the sections, will we know the teachers before registration opens?

Fun/easy first year seminar gut recommendations?

I’m taking MATH 1200, Microeconomics, and Chinese L1, so I’m looking for an easy gut first year seminar, preferably Humanities or Science for distributional requirements. Does anyone have any recommendations from seminars they took or have heard of? I am thinking about either taking a first year seminar or “Purposes of College Education” which seems lighter.

E&R Laundry Service: Good, fine, or bad?

I’ve been thinking about whether to buy the E&R laundry service and honestly price isn’t really a concern. Can someone who’s bought the service give a review on the quality of service they provide? I want to be able to put as much time into more “important stuff” and not laundry, but if E&R has a bad reputation I won’t get it.

Chinese as a complete beginner at Yale, advice?

As a high schooler, I never took a foreign language class. Now, I’m deciding what language I should take at Yale and I’ve heard that Chinese is a great department but extremely hard. I’d like to hear from people who’ve taken Chinese (L1, L2, L3) and what the workload is like, how the professors are, and what tests are like.

On the table of acceleration credit, it says

"1 credit for 5 on either AP English Lang and Comp or AP English Lit and Comp tests. Contact department as each exam equates to different English courses."

So, what does acceleration credit even do for AP Lang and AP Lit? I know that for like Calc BC I get to skip Calc 1 and Calc 2, but how does it work for English? Does acceleration credit even matter?
