Czech Youth Mobility Visa From Canada — Student Exchange Questions

Hi everyone,

I’m a University of Calgary student going on exchange to VŠE in Prague for the Fall 2026 semester, and I’m applying for the Czech Youth Mobility Visa from Canada.

I’m a little confused about two parts of the application:

First, for the return ticket section, is that treated separately from proof of financial resources? The embassy page says you can provide a return ticket, ticket reservation/flight itinerary, or sufficient financial resources to purchase one. Then it separately asks for proof of financial resources, saying CAD $2,500 for the start of the stay plus CAD $1,500 for departure costs, so CAD $4,000 total. If I have a bank statement showing over CAD $4,000, does that usually satisfy both the proof of funds and the return ticket/departure cost requirement?

Second, for proof of registration at a Canadian post-secondary institution, I have a University of Calgary confirmation of study, but it only shows full-time status for Winter 2027 because I’m not enrolled in regular U of C classes for Fall 2026 while I’m away on exchange. I also have my acceptance letter from VŠE for the Fall 2026 exchange.

For anyone who applied as a Canadian student going on exchange, did you include both your Canadian university confirmation of study and your Czech exchange acceptance letter? Did you also need a separate letter from your Canadian university confirming you were approved/nominated for exchange?

Also, for translated documents, how did people handle addresses? Did your translator leave street names exactly as written, or translate parts like “St,” “Street,” “Ave,” or “Avenue” into Czech? For example, if an address says “24 St” or “24 Street,” should that stay as “24 St/24 Street,” or would “Street” be translated?

I’m planning to have the documents checked/translated, but I’m trying to make sure I have the right pieces before submitting.

Thanks!
