what’s your opinion on dating the ex of a nationwide- loved industry girl?
I’ve been talking to this guy for a few months now, and the situation feels a little complicated because of who his ex is.
We originally started texting because we’d been Instagram mutuals for a long time, even before he ever got into a relationship with his industry girlfriend. While they were dating, we never crossed boundaries or anything like that. We’d occasionally react to stories here and there, but nothing serious.
Fast forward to now: they broke up, after a decent amount of time passed, he randomly texted me out of nowhere. I replied, and ever since then we’ve been talking pretty consistently. Late-night calls, sending each other random updates throughout the day, flirting, all of that. It started off casual, but now it’s getting to the point where I can actually see this becoming something real.
The problem is… his ex is VERY loved online. Huge fanbase, lots of supporters, one of those girls people are super emotionally attached to. And before anyone twists this, I’m genuinely not trying to shade her or compare myself to her at all.
But I can’t stop thinking about what would happen if we ever made things public.
Would people automatically assume there was overlap? Would I get constantly compared to her appearance/personality? Would I become “the girl he dated after everyone’s favorite couple broke up”? 😭
I know online fans can get extremely intense, especially when it comes to industry relationships, and I genuinely don’t know if I’m overthinking it or if the hate train would actually be that bad.
