Telling your daughter to eat less because she is getting "fat". Is this okay?

I came across a post where a mother was telling her young daughter to eat less because she was getting a little fat and honestly, it bothered me.

I understand that parents should teach their children healthy eating habits, and if there is a genuine health concern, it should be addressed. But telling a young child that she needs to eat less because of her body size seems like a terrible way to approach it.

Children are still growing, and constantly hearing that their body is “too big” can make them associate food with guilt and their appearance with their self worth. There’s a difference between teaching healthy habits and making a child feel ashamed of eating.

If a child genuinely needs help with their weight, shouldn’t that conversation be handled privately and appropriately, preferably with guidance from a doctor, rather than making the child feel bad about their body?

What do you guys think? Am I overreacting, or is this something parents should be more careful about?

STCBL panic posting and showing their greedy colours

Just when people found a way to buy toyota vehicles on a reasonable rate, this greedy and jealous company decided to step in and stop people from saving their money.

I swear people need to stop buying from stcbl and buy from other sources which we now know that it exists. I am super glad i got mine from siliguri before this panic post. Citizens really need to wake up and boycott this company as there are cheaper ways to spend your hard earned money and buy quality cars.

Conjuuse, dictator based company jedha.

UPDATE: now stcbl has blocked the indian showrooms from selling their cars to bhutanese. 3 of friends have called them and they said they were told not to sell anymore to bhutanese unless authorized.

School kids in ometv

As a college std, some of my friends go to ometv and connect with strangers. However, among the other college students and some random uncles, we have seen students who seem very young in the platform as well. Some are in their school uniform. Might be going to ometv through their school IT lab. Ometv is fun if you meet with the right people with the right humour but on the other hand it could be very dangerous considering some are strangers from other countries aswell. What are your thoughts?

GOTOBOM FAKE ASHI KHENDUM DORJI

GOTOBOM Khendum made a response post calling everyone who is against her “lame-a** haters.” Since she seems to think people’s experiences with her are made up, here’s some tea about her family. All of these articles are available online, so the information can be fact-checked. Her family was exiled to Nepal because her father, who was the acting prime minister, allegedly tried to stage a coup against our great Third King. After they were exiled, they went to Nepal, where they reportedly raised chickens to make a living. She acts all high and mighty, but at the end of the day, she comes from a family that had to raise chickens to survive.

I work in an office where some of the ladies spill plenty of tea. I’ve also heard claims about Khendum’s foreign mother allegedly being some kind of high-end call girl in India. Khendum is reportedly late on her bank loans, and apparently no one wants to buy her White House apartments. Her Muscle Factory barely has anyone there, and from what I hear, her businesses aren’t doing well, including her Chinese EV dealership. On top of all that, she has such a huge ego and clearly thinks she’s above everyone else. Maybe it’s time someone brought her down a peg or two.

Posting online and privacy

People posting on tiktok and other social media apps like YouTube, Instagram, etc. are y'all not scared of people using your pics in wrong ways. AI can generate a whole clone of your voice from a few seconds of your voice sample. Imagine scammers using your voice to ring your parents or people close to you for money or get information about you. This may not be a concern now but in near future it will be a thing.

Next the amount of AI covering Bhutanese songs I see on tiktok is just mind boggling. Who are generating these AI covered songs, no credit to the original singers too.

Genuine question about accountability in Bhutan, Khendum Dorji self proclaimed Ashi la

My earlier post got taken down from the Bhutan subreddit, and the moderation feels like they were trained in North Korea. I originally came across a post about this situation because my family is starting a business, so seeing someone apparently confronting or intimidating a government employee worried me. After reading more of the discussion, I became even more curious about what is actually going on. People in the comments were making all kinds of claims about Khendum Dorji including questioning whether she is entitled to use “Ashi" as she is not royal. I know someone who works at the bank, and they’ve told me staff are apparently nervous about approaching her regarding overdue loan payments because they say they often get scolded and threatened by this so called “Ashi.” More importantly, if a government employee is simply doing their job, nobody should be able to intimidate them because of wealth, family connections, or social status.

Do you think gen z are becoming more willing to challenge this kind of elite entitlement and demand equal treatment for everyone?

Using other’s credentials for 20g gold?

Have any one watched drubi gunner youtube video? The guy just got scammed, robbed or sold his identity to someone his friend knows for 2k with 20g gold/ter.

At first i thought guy might be dk bank officer or but they were meeting outside street, its kinda manipulation into thinking its the bank thats providing.

Looks gunner was unaware of the situation and gave his credential. He should make a statement informing his fans and public to be vigilant about this scams cuz many idolized him.

Do bhutanese men find Indian women attractive

Saw a Bhutanese boy and thought he was really cute but I’m an Indian girl so I’m just curious if Bhutanese men are into Indian women? I’m an olive toned skinny but curvy kinda gal lol (idk if that matters). I know there’s a lot of similarities in culture and I personally love so many things about Bhutanese culture. But I’ve also never dated a Bhutanese man or have close Bhutanese friends. Any thoughts?

This guy and his hygiene

There's this guy I have been seeing recently and he's a decent dude butttt here's the thing, I saw dirt in his nails. It seemed like the dirt has been fermenting in his nails for ages, and he smiled(cute smile btw) but he has plague in between his front teeth.

Like I said before he's a decent guy and I like his humour. He's good looking as well. I don't think this guy flosses as well 👀.

How do I tell him to maintain his hygiene and get his teeth scaled without sounding rude.

Do We Really Need AI For This?

Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken or misinformed about the content of this post. From what I have been observing recently, generative AI is cementing its place in Bhutanese society. AI generated art can be found everywhere from your friend’s profile picture to advertising posters, and even official press releases bear traces of generative AI.

AI is a tool, for sure, with a lot of potential if used correctly. However, I feel like we need to have an open discussion about how AI is being used in the current digital landscape.

I recently came across this post from Sherig Bhutan promoting an art competition among students. Ironically, the posters they are using to promote the competition bears heavy traces of generative AI (please do correct me if I am wrong about this, but I’ll attach the posters with this post). Furthermore, at the Respect Day event hosted by the Young Buddhist Association, the background art used also bore a lot of traces of generative AI.

Do we really need AI for this? Back in the days before AI, we had caffeine induced Canva artists and Wattpad writers who made art like the rent was due everyday. I feel like we have taken away the very little opportunities that they had in Bhutan in the first place. Wouldn’t it be possible for agencies to outsource some of the stuff like making posters and writing scripts to the plethora of talented people we have in our country? Even if our agencies are so fiscally deprived, couldn’t they outsource it to students who could work on making posters through Canva (which now does have AI help but still a lot of human input needs to be provided) or to Graphic Designers? Are we so scared of thinking and imagination that we need to outsource it to a tool functioning equivalent to a stochastic parrot?

I’ve heard that workplaces are now encouraging people to learn how to use AI but I feel that it’s just a buzzword if there’s no concrete expectation of how workplaces want AI to be used. Do you want tasks automated? Do you want AI written reports? Simply asking employees to learn about AI in a disparaging manner without having a concrete expectation of how you want AI to be used in your workplace feels like we are desperately trying to jump on a bandwagon we ourselves don’t understand in the first place.

And finally, in a society where people have always been rather shy to voice out their ideas, letting AI do the writing and thinking raises an important question of how much we want to let this tool control us. We are, as a society, very easily persuaded (as evident whenever anything remotely religious happens) so how much do we want to let AI think for us?
