[USA] Becoming a counselor with a criminal record?

I have four misdemeanor convictions-- one from 2000 (criminal damage to property), two from 2006 (disorderly conduct and operating after revocation), and one from 2016 (disorderly conduct). The DC from ten years ago has a thorny issue; the state record has a footnote of "domestic abuse assessment" because the police referred the case to the DA to see if domestic abuse was in play. This is because the conviction stemmed from me getting in a loud argument with my wife in public while we were finalizing our divorce. It was ultimately deemed to not actually be DV, although I am very embarrassed and it's a bad look to say the least!

I'm actually not worried about licensure. I already got a state elementary education teaching certificate and a state bachelor-level social work license with these convictions. But I'm worried that no one will want to hire me as a therapist if I go on to get my MSW, because of these convictions. Especially because I don't actually have any social work/helping professions experience-- I wound up going into teaching instead of social work after getting my BSW. I got my actual license about a month ago, honestly largely to test the waters and see if getting my MSW and becoming a therapist was even worth considering!

Thoughts and advice are welcome. And if anyone wants to take a dig at me, judge me harshly, tell me I have no business going into the profession-- that's not *unwelcome*. Looking for candid advice here!
