2026 general UCAT performance??

Is it just me or is everyone doing so well this year not just in terms of preparation but also scores? I see SO MANY people getting like 2100+ in not just practice exams but also the final thing? Im sooo scared the deciles are gonna be much higher than last year 💔

Im on a gap year and got 2020 Band 2, is this enough for ncl

Is my UCAT score enough for Med @ Newcastle?

Just did my UCAT. I got 2020 overall with Band 2 in Situational Judgement. Does anyone know what the cutoff is for Newcastle? Lowest I saw was 2050. Afraid my score isn't sufficient. I am on a gap year.

Everyone seems to be doing so well in the UCAT this year 🫩🫩🫩🫩

Westlakes campus

Hi! I am starting the Medicine with a Foundation Year programme at the Westlakes campus.

I would love to connect with anyone else who is also starting this course.

I am also really keen to get to know students currently studying at Westlakes, regardless of your degree or year. I would love to hear about your experiences, what campus life is like, and any tips you have for a fresher.

Drop a comment or send me a message if you want to chat or connect! Looking forward to meeting you all.

Reapplying to Medicine & Retaking the UCAT- Advice needed

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has taken the UCAT once and done well, or from those who have sat it more than once and improved significantly.

For context, I'm an IBDP M26 student. I sat the UCAT last year (at the end of the testing window) and didn't do well. Looking back, I also made the mistake of applying too aspirationally, which I definitely won't be repeating this cycle.

My IGCSEs are a lot weaker than those of the average UK medical applicant (very few As/A*s, with some Bs and Cs), despite coming from a school where students generally perform well at IGCSE 💀. I'm a non-contextual international applicant. My predicted grades were decent, and I'm currently waiting for my final IB results. The plan is to reapply with final grades and resit the UCAT, as I genuinely do believe I can perform much better than I did before.

One thing I noticed last year was that Medify felt considerably easier than the actual UCAT. So, I've been using MedEntry for the past week, and some of the questions seem a lot more challenging. However, I don't want to miss out on resources that may better reflect the current exam.

For those who have done well on their first attempt or improved significantly on a second attempt:

  • What strategies do you recommend, and what made the biggest difference to your score?
  • Would you recommend Medify, MedEntry, or using both? If possible, please share section-specific advice as well.
  • Were there any resources that you felt were particularly representative of the 2025/2026 UCAT?

Also, SJT is currently my weakest section. I consistently seem to score around Band 2, including when I sat the UCAT last year. I've read through GMC Good Medical Practice before, but I'd appreciate any recommendations for more in-depth resources or strategies that helped you move from Band 2 to Band 1.

Any advice from successful reapplicants or high-scoring test takers would be greatly appreciated. Any other advice would also be appreciated.

Thank you.
