10-month-old barely eating solids and breastfeeding constantly, help
My daughter is almost 10 months and still breastfeeds constantly, especially at night. She wakes up around every hour and usually wants to nurse, sometimes just for a minute or two. She also nurses very frequently during the day.
The problem is that she DOESN’T WANT TO eats any solids. We’ve been offering food for 4 months finger foods, family meals, different textures, eating together, letting her explore, etc. She’ll pick food up, lick/suck or chew a little or just chef a bit on her baby pacifier feeder? If thats the english word, then drop it. Very little to none actually gets swallowed.
She also hates the high chair when food is offered and if she gets even slightly hungry, she immediately wants to breastfeed. If I try offering food before nursing, she can scream until I give her the breast.
I’m starting to wonder if breastfeeding this frequently is affecting her appetite for solids. But I also don’t want to suddenly restrict breastfeeding when she clearly wants it and needs it now with separation anxiety at its peak
Has anyone had a baby this age who was really resistant to solids but breastfed constantly? Did things improve naturally, or did reducing breastfeeding (especially at night) make a difference? I’m honestly getting so worried and frustrated. Thank you all!!
