Anyone else triggered, but in a good way?

I saw Obsession last Friday as part of a horror double feature night with friends. We watched The Backrooms and Obsession. We really like both, but I loved Obsession. With that said it did trigger me but in a good way.

Im 30 but yet I’ve been assaulted twice. Neither were by a stranger or a mysterious person.
Both times were by people I knew and once by a trusted friend. This movie triggered that situation. But in a way that I felt like someone acknowledged me and all of us that’s been in that situation.

I immediately sympathized with Nikki,in all of her demonic, bat shit crazy ways. She was truly horrifying but in my eyes not the villain. In my situation, I was looked at as the villain, due to my actions after the assault. I didn’t trust people, I was angry at the world and lashed out at everyone. Meanwhile my assaulter got sympathy even though everyone knew what he did. they even justified it by saying that he wasn’t in his right mind, he would never do that again,he such a nice guy. etc. etc

But me… i was seen as the evil one afterwords.

I saw the same thing with Nikki. She literally could not act any other way. That evil side replaced her and did it because of someone else’s doing.

This movie in a completely creative way symbolized this dynamic and I’m glad it did.
