Looking to host TTRPG and other nerdy hobbies at my work
This one goes out to anybody who's interested in hosting/playing nerd-cultured events and needs somewhere to do it. For context, I work at The Worlds End (TWE) + The Underworld (UW) in Camden, London.
I had an idea to utilise UW originally for D&D but could be for anything really, but the idea gets more exciting the more I think about it. The venue is primarily used for gigs and club nights, so it has tools and equipment installed that could really add atmosphere - imagine your druid casts Call Lightning and the strobe lights go off to add effect, imagine dimming the lights to a warm yellow glow in a dark room during campfire scenes, or whacking on the smoke machine when a fog rolls in.. plus as a music venue it already has speakers , a stage and as a bonus we got aircon!
Idk, the idea just sounds so cool to me, I'd imagine that if we did a ticket price on the door that included a drink (like 1 pint or a single house spirit & mixer for example), players could at any time cast Summon Bartender and me or another staff could run you your beverage, things like that to create just a fun, awesome experience (NB, I would volunteer my time to make this happen, but it needs to at least break even on operations costs or it would eventually end up discontinued).
In my minds eye a large West-Marches style campaign would be ideal like in CR C4, we could put props up, maybe wrap the bannisters with fake vines to help create a mystical feeling and it doesn't have to just be D&D, it could be multiple tables simply utilising the space, multiple different games or hobbies whether that's Warhammer, Magic, Daggerheart, Call Of Cthulhu or any TTRPG, or any other nerdy hobby I'm very open to questions, suggestions and assistance!
I just have this opportunity to utilise this space to make something really cool happen, but I'm not an events organiser so don't be apprehensive, reach out or pass me along to someone if you have any ideas, or even if you reckon you would be interested in joining if it was already a thing here, then leave a comment so I can at least gage the demand for it ^_^
