Sculpted this out of polymer clay. It might not look so accurate but does this scene look familiar, Daddy?

I recently bought a second-hand NECA Ultimate Big Chap, and it has quite a few scratches on the dome. They’re not deep gouges—just lots of light surface scratches that are noticeable under the light.

Has anyone successfully fixed this kind of damage?
Would spraying a gloss clear coat help hide the scratches, or would it just make them more noticeable? or make it foggy? If not, what method would you recommend?
