Hi! I recently applied to become an officer and all is going well, I just had a question about a medical ”condition“. Basically, when my blood is drawn, the platelets clump together. Not like in a “yea obviously” way, I’m talking about in the vial and thus my platelets appear low.

I was diagnosed when I was a teen because my mom was determined to find out what the cause was, to the point we went to a doctor and had me tested for everything they could, even cancer. End result, the doctor told me that it’s one of those “just the way you are, some people just naturally have higher or lower counts of things and it doesn’t impact them”.

I’m wondering how to approach existing conditions like this at MEPS if I am selected. I have multiple doctors notes from past physicals stating to just ignore it, as I’m dead center on every other measurement and have had a consistent platelet count since the diagnosis, as well as not having any other symptoms (no bruising, no excessive bleeding, etc). I have never needed medication or treatment for it, and have been told it has zero impact on my health.

I am about to send in my prequalification document and at the end it says "In the body of the email, include a brief description of the specific item(s) you are requesting review for (e.g. law violation, age, etc)"

If I am reading this correctly, this is either asking me to list things that need to be confirmed, or asking them to just read the document. Nothing in the doc needs confirmation or special review as I have nothing in there that would cause any holdups or red flags, so I'm not sure what I need to put here. Thanks!
