What's going on here
My first plant! It's a canna lily. I'm a complete beginner and I'm probably doing a lot wrong. The room has no windows so for now it has been under a regular led lamp. It gets maybe 8 hours of led light a day. I'm planning on buying it an actual full spectrum light later but for now its still been growing new leaves. I do the finger trick for knowing when to water and everytime I do it it feels a bit cold so I just don't water. I get nervous I'm overwatering and under watering so I give it like 1/4 cup of water a week and then regret it. Sometimes I use tap but most times I use a water bottle that's almost empty. It drain onto a towel that I remove or the table which I wipe off. I have no idea what type of soil it is; it has white specks in it if that helps at all.
My question is what is happening?? I don't know what these white dots are that keep appearing. It's not a full hole but the plant is thinner in that area. Is it from a pest? The weird triangle on the worst leaf is from cutting off the browning. I keep cutting off the brown and more brown appears at its edge. I believe the weird sharp holes are from my cat. Maybe she's scratching it? I don't know of any pest that would cause that shape. Also why is it yellowing? Is something wrong with my routine? I have no idea how but the plants is still growing. The 4th leaf on the top sprouted after I got it and the new one in the middle is also starting to sprout. Can I cut off the lowest leaf with all the white dots? I don't know how nodes work. If I cut it off near the steam of that leaf will a new one sprout?
Also my plant is NOT that green my camera oversatures the hell out of photos
