We are currently trying to redo our shower (17k quote)

We bought a home, and the shower isn't our favorite. It's fiberglass, the bottom is stained, and it has no support. The shower door is very short, so my husband has to bend down to get in.

We received a quote for the shower renovation today, estimating it at $17,000. Is this typical, or does it seem high?

It would use acrylic materials and not tile.
