Should I ask for a refund?

I bought a hoodie from a seller on Depop for $40, which I thought was a great deal considering the brand. Before buying, I messaged the seller and asked if it had any stains. They told me it didn’t, so I went ahead and purchased it.
After I bought it, the seller sent me a message that has me confused. I’m not sure if they’re being honest or if they’re trying to pull some kind of scam.
I’ll attach screenshots of the conversation. What do yall think?
