what does a photon do in a single film emulsion layer?

when a photon hits a piece of film and moves through the agx emulsion, it eventually interacts with a crystal or dye. one of these things can happen:
- it gets absorbed by agx/dye and ejects an electron. if this happens in a dye molecule, the electron can transfer into a nearby agx crystal and get trapped there
- it undergoes elastic scattering (rayleigh/mie) from agx crystals or dye clouds
- it reflects because of fresnel reflection at refractive index boundaries between gelatin and agx
are there any other interactions that happen in the emulsion that aren’t negligible for image formation?
