I had my 1st session at licensed esthetician. I think she used maximum recommended for first session but I had almost 0 redness. I was a tiny pink at my forehead and then after hot shower a bit red but otherwise nothing. Its 3rd day and I resumed retinal for now as my skin looks totally fine. Tomorrow I think I would start again adapalene. I had 0 irritation.

Is this normal? When I did permanent makeup my artist noted I have unusually thick skin. Do I need to go significantly deeper next time? Is it effective without redness?

Esthetician mentioned we can ramp it up next time but some clients even at the depth I did for the first time are pretty red.
