Leica iiif newby film error guidance
In seek of educated aid. Just finished my second roll of film ever, am big on research and just getting into the hobby. Inherited my grandpas Leica IIIf with a Summicron F2 that seem to be in relatively stellar operable condition (from the outside). I did recently find a receipt saying it was last CLA’d in the 90s so that may be a contributing factor.
I had a local shop develop my recent portra 400 roll and am looking for aid. I’ve read the diagnosis write up in this page which is great however it didn’t solve all of my questions.
I’ve had several digital cameras over the years so I get the basics of iso, aperture, shutter etc.
1.Image appears to be relatively well exposed and sharp indicating the camera works and can produce a “good” image
Half coverage likely meaning the curtain is out of sync, can someone confirm?
Light leaks on first image of roll indicating I loaded it poorly correct?
Vertical dark thick bands, seems to be separate from the wiki troubleshooting guide. Could this be a scanning artifact? I don’t see how the camera could mechanically cause this pattern even if it is out of service?
Thanks in advance for the wisdom and please direct me if I’m in the wrong thread. Excited to be joining the analog world!
