What are y'all using the subcompact impact wrench for?
Specifically, I'm asking about the 1/4" sub compact as I'm considering buying one. I've been using the original version of the M12 1/4" hex cordless screw driver for 90% of my work under the hood, and the insider ratchet for tight spaces. I've been using the cordless screwdriver for probably the last 15 years. I find it handles pretty much every fastener under the hood, short of engine mount bolts, and I just twist on the gun if I need some extra oomph to break a bolt loose. The adjustable clutch does a great job of preventing overtightening smaller fasteners or assembling plastic components. Rust isn't really an issue here, so maybe that's where having an impact shines, but for the smaller fasteners like valve covers or intakes, an impact seems like overkill. This isn't a judgment on those who use the subcompact impact wrench; I'm genuinely curious what the right use case is for this tool.
