Hello mechanics, I have a 2022 Ford Expedition Max with 40,000 miles on it. We purchased it used several months ago, and we haven’t had any issues with it.

Yesterday, we came off of the highway on the exit ramp and stopped at the traffic light to turn left. The vehicle was in drive and when beginning to accelerate to turn left, the vehicle started revving loudly – it sounded like there was some kind of a race car next to us.

The RPMs went to about 6,000 and the only way I could stop it was to put it in neutral temporarily, and then put it back in drive. After that, it drove normally. Any idea what could’ve caused this? What should we have checked? Thank you for your advice!
