Seeking advice
Not sure where else to post this so here goes.
Got a job offer from a real estate tech company operating in MENA. Started the sponsorship transfer process here in Qatar. Should've been straightforward. It wasn't.
They made an admin error on their end — listed me as being based in Algeria. I'm in Doha. Did the interview in Doha. That mistake pushed the whole timeline back significantly. Eventually the transfer got approved.
Then they withdrew the offer. Reason given: "the situation in the Middle East."
The delays happened because of their mistake, not mine. By the time everything cleared on their end, they pulled out.
Has anyone been in a similar situation in Qatar?
- Does an approved sponsorship transfer give you any legal protection if the offer is then pulled?
- Is there anything worth pursuing through the Ministry of Labor?
- Has anyone successfully pushed back or been compensated after something like this?
Open to any advice — even if it's just "cut your losses" — I just want to know what my options are before I decide anything.
