Started something out of passion and now it's on 1st page of Google

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, honestly, they showed up at the right time for me.

Before any of this, I already had a small audience I was helping out quietly, resume feedback, LinkedIn profile tips, that kind of thing. Nothing fancy.

Claude was new to me and I'm still figuring out half of what it can do, but somewhere in there an idea stuck: build a Boolean String Builder, but for candidates this time, not recruiters.

Why? Because Boolean strings have quietly been a recruiter's best weapon for years. Sales folks use the same trick to find leads and decision-makers. Meanwhil, jobseekers are stuck scrolling endlessly, getting nowhere, because let's be real, LinkedIn's search and Google X-ray were never designed with free users in mind. The people who knew how to exploit them have been doing it for decades. Everyone else just got left out.

So I built the tool for the other side, the jobseekers. It's helped people surface roles that were basically buried behind search terms they'd never have thought to use.

Honestly, I'm still a bit stunned it's now sitting on page 1 of Google, next to companies that built similar tools but gated them behind recruiter-only premium plans, nothing for the actual jobseeker.

I've also been watching where the traffic's coming from, which countries, and it's been a nice surprise.

No cost right now. It's fully free, and there's an AI chatbot baked in to help people build solid Boolean strings without needing to know the syntax.

Happy to answer any questions.

Qatar offer vs staying in Australia - worth it?

I’m an engineer in Australia with around 2 years experience and received a offer for a role in Qatar.
Package is roughly:
QAR 25,000/month total cash
Bonus min QAR 50k, max QAR 100k
Healthcare for wife/kids
Annual flights home for family
Relocation support (shipping container provided)
QAR 25k sign on bonus
QAR 30k/year education allowance per child once they start school
I’d be relocating with my wife and newborn. My wife is happy to move but will be a stay at home mum.
In Australia, I’m getting promoted in December to around AUD 130k/year (QAR 325k/year) + 15% bonus
Is the Qatar package worth uprooting for, or is it too close to what I’d likely earn if I stayed in Australia?
I'm a Muslim so culture fit is no problem, probably would enjoy living in Qatar better.

Desperate Stay at Home Wife

Hi! Currently 3 month resigned and funemployed while religiously applying to 5-20 job openings every day and found no luck.

So far I have only landed one interview (no idea for the further update and been asking for follow-ups but never get an answer), and one call back.

I am trying my luck finding a job here, and I think my experience as a Cabin Crew is a hiccup because from those only two conversations I got, during the interview and the call, they did not ask much about my abilities, expertise and my background, but grilled me on why I applied, and resigned from the job which is understandable, but not necessary.

I just want to go back to corporate world, build my way up, and any entry level roles such as admin, secretary or Project Coordinator would be a great start. I have a degree in IR, I have Project - Conference Management background, and Digital Marketing. Currently studying for CAPM certification as well.

Trying my luck here cause I am that desperate to get a job! Any helpful tips would also be highly appreciated!Thankiez ><

Is this worth it?

8k full package in Ras Laffan as planning engr/contracts coordinator (whatever that means). I have 1 year + 9 months fit out experience and I'm aware I have much to learn. The experience will be beneficial for me for sure but they want me to pay for my own transfer? Like what? They don't have accomodation available for me there and I'll have to travel everyday. I know I should be grateful I still have have a job, given the job market but I wanna know what I'm looking at. I signed the offer letter in their office and they want me to come in after my current work to soft launch the workload(I need training) I think. Is this worth the hairfalls?

Which driving school should I choose in Qatar? Looking for advice before I register.

Hi everyone,

My company has offered to help me get my Qatar driving licence. They’ll handle the registration, and the cost will simply be deducted from my salary in monthly installments, which is a great help.

However, I’ve recently heard that getting test/training slots has become very difficult. Some people told me that there are only around 5–7 slots which get accepted for DL per day at some institutes. And, also the waiting time can be quite long. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but it has me a bit concerned.

My company is likely to register me with Dallah Academy, but before I agree, I wanted to ask people who have gone through the process recently:

  1. Which driving school would you recommend and why?

  2. Is Dallah a good choice, or would you suggest another academy?

  3. Are there any tips to increase the chances of getting earlier class or test dates?

  4. Is there anything I should do or avoid during registration to make the process smoother?

For context, I already have a valid Indian DL, if that makes any difference.

I'd really appreciate hearing about your recent experiences. Thanks in advance!

Rejected by Vodafone after "multiple rounds of interviews"... that I never actually attended?

Hey everyone,

I'm honestly just baffled right now and looking for some perspective or at least a place to vent about the absolute state of modern hiring.

I applied for a role at Vodafone one month ago. After a while they reached out requesting some additional personal details/documentation to proceed with my application. I sent the info over.

After which ,I received a standard rejection email. The kicker? The email explicitly says:

"After multiple rounds of interviews, we have decided not to move forward with your application. It was truly great meeting you and getting to know you..."

Here's the catch: I never attended a single interview. No phone screen, no Zoom call, no in-person meeting. Absolutely nothing. I literally just sent them the requested info and got ghosted straight into a "nice meeting you" rejection.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is their automated ATS (Applicant Tracking System) just completely broken, or should I be worried about identity theft/a phishing scam? (I'm currently double-checking the sender's domain to be safe).

What would you guys do? Just laugh it off, or actually reply to HR and point out that we've never actually met?

Junior Cloud Consultant

Hi, we are a startup and landed a contract in Qatar for a Cloud AI project. We work with a local vendor here and need junior cloud consultant familiar with Azure. We have senior architects working offshore but due to local regulations we need someone to be present in Qatar and work with the local vendor. The working hours are flexible, somedays you need to go onsite for standup meetings or sync up, other than that it will be pretty much remote. If you are in Qatar, please DM your CV, we can connect and discuss. If you are not in Qatar, we can arrange business visa from the local partner.

Interns are also welcome to apply.

PS: This is a junior role and we are happy to help you learn and grow, you will have support from Senior SDEs and Consultants from offshore.

Jobs in Qatar

So, I’ve noticed that there’s so many job openings on Linkedin, Indeed etc but it doesn’t make any sense when we apply to these jobs even though you have the experience, qualifications and probably tick all the right boxes. And still don’t get selected. Then I see posts of people complaining all the time so why are these jobs openings even put up if you’re not willing to hire?????

Can't decide between doctor or engineer

I'm currently applying for my undergrad, the subjects I took for A level were math, cs, physics and chem. I'm best at math, and I like physics. Naturally I was thinking engineering would be the choice for me.

Recently tho, lots of people have been recomending I do medicine, saying that its the most stable and high paying in comparison to engineering thats apparently experiencing a decline in the job market and layoffs.

I'm genuinely in a crisis rn trying to choose between the two, I dont hate biology, infact I watch medical content from time to time for fun but it was my worst science during school( not that I was doing bad or anything just the one that didnt come to me as easily as the others). I want stability and good pay but at the same time i dont want to risk wasting my time pursuing a career that im gonna hate. Technically, even tho both take time theyre similar, in med max 8 years and i start residency where im earning and for engineering 4 years bachelors plus 3 years masters cause ur getting no were with a bachelors nowadays.

IF UR A DOCTOR THAT WENT INTO IT FOR THE MONEY OR AN ENGINEER YOUR OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Work visa process

Hello. I'm living in the UK, currently in the process of being hired by a large government organization in Qatar. I have supplied my legislated documents and I'm waiting for my formal contract. HR have been painfully slow.

Can anyone tell me what happens after I sign the contract? Does the employer apply for the work visa, and if so, how long does this usually take?

I understand, I need to do a health check - when does this need to be done? As I probably won't be moving there for another 3-4 months.
