Hi everyone. I made a post yesterday about how Outlook/Hotmail was giving me the too many incorrect attempts whenever I signed in with my password. I waited around 48 hours and had no issue with my password (around 9 am this morning), then I checked it around 12 and same issue "too many incorrect attempts." This is crazy why is it deciding when to take my password and when not to.

Hello everyone,

Like most people I have been having outlook/hotmail issues. I have a hotmail account with two factor push set up on my iphone. Earlier this week/ over the weekend my ipad kept signing me out of email and I suspect that was when these issues began. My password is accepted whenever I use a Microsoft app such as PowerPoint, Word, etc. and for Safari/Chrome login if I use my phone number, then password, then two factor. However, my account does not accept my password for login with email&password on Safari/Chrome OR when viewing security/privacy settings that require extra verification. Thus, I know it is a web issue and not an IOS/Microsoft app issue. I am forced to use my two factor app to login or access security info with no option to use the password anymore. So to clarify I am currently able to login but I cannot use my password as it says "incorrect and too many attempts" whenever it is correct. On Wednesday, I updated my password and it did work briefly on Chrome/Safari before the same issue arose. I waited 24 hours and then tried it again and same issue. I have had no luck with Microsoft Customer service. My question is should I wait 7 days and try again? I'm not sure what I need to do. I am worried about this password not working down the line and I don't love being fully dependent on the authenticator app with a non-functional password. I am young (20-30s) and I don't know why I have a Hotmail and would move to my gmail but everything is on this account and I imagine it is a huge pain. Hard to find other people with this issue as it seems niche.

Please help,

Stressed hotmail user.

Hi. It lets me use my authenticator app to login but it says my password is incorrect (it is correct) and that I have entered an incorrect password too many times. What do I need to do? Is Outlook going to start accepting our passwords... or do we have to update them for it to work.
