Anyone with pending asylum / no green card flown domestically recently? Especially through Miami?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to get some real experiences from people who are currently in the U.S. with pending asylum cases or other non-green card statuses who have flown domestically recently.
My boyfriend originally came to the U.S. on a tourist visa, stayed, and later applied for asylum. He has no criminal record and has valid immigration paperwork related to his case, but with everything happening lately in the news about ICE presence at airports and new immigration announcements from the Trump administration, he’s honestly really nervous about flying.
We would most likely be flying out of Miami, so if anyone has recent experiences specifically with MIA, TSA, ICE presence, document checks, etc, that would be super helpful. We will be flying into Missouri.
We’re not looking for legal advice just real personal experiences from people in similar situations:
Did you fly recently?
What documents did you use?
Did you feel safe?
Did you have any interaction with ICE or only TSA?
Would you personally avoid flying right now?
I know Reddit isn’t legal advice, but hearing from people actually going through this would really help calm some fears or at least help us make a more informed decision.
Thanks in advance.
