I know know this has probably been posted by others thousands of times but i personally want to share a bit of my experience.
As of right now i have 211 hours on luna, 155 hours on phoenix and 80 hours on WF. Obviously these are my main 3 characters i like to play, i can flex to other characters too but i prefer not to if i can. Anyways, with all of these hours id say i have a very good insight to the community and the social media presence too.
And honestly? This games community is so mentally draining, the ammount of complaining that goes on is insane. Its like every single YouTube short or video about rivals i watch theres always the need to complain baked into the video with captions like "this character is so broken" or "nerf X character" and then you open the comments and its all just negativity and arguing. Even IN GAME people still complain about everything whether it be in VC or text chat. People in this community will complain about literally anything from skins with different colour nails that they dont like to characters that they proclaim are busted but are still outshined by other top tier characters.
Then theres just the toxicity which feeds into the aforementioned complaining. Theres so much toxicity around every single thing in this game, you make one play that was a little questionable or a tiny mistake and your teamates will just flame the hell out of you, not even in a "nice" way they will just straight up say your awful at the game and start picking at your rank or the character your playing or even in some cases ive seen them pick at the skin you are wearing. The ammount of ego inside this community that has caused mass toxicity and complaining is insane. I feel bad for the devs that the game they try to improve on and make better, they are putting the effort in for such an unthankful community who will just keep complaining till the end of days.
Some might say "just turn chat off, use dont recommend on these channels" and yeah i have done that, but the negative stigma is almost inside every bit of rivals content to some level whether it be in the comments or even just implied in the video. I cannot interact with anything rivals related outside of the game without there being toxicity or complaining from everyone. Its sad because i do like the game (evidently) and while yes i can agree it does have its issues, the biggest bug the devs cant fix is the people. And its so sad to confront that.
To those who arent so negative and those who feel the same as i do, we need more people like you in this community. We need the positive to outweigh the negatives because the negative is getting incredibly tiring.
