OM-1
I finally mounted my OM-1 on my Atlantis.
The last two photos are the OM-1 side-by-side with a rapid-rise XT derailer. Very similar mechanism and dimensions.
Now it's time to go for a ride!

Local bike shop has this bike marked down.
is a 56cm too small for me? I'm 6'1" with 91cm pbh. I had a 58cm Space Horse but needed a really short stem. I'm worried 56cm doesn't have enough rise though -- I like bars level with saddle.
also the white spokes are strange, and I'd be swapping the bars for some alt bars
edit: price tag on bike is 1999. Shop has it marked down 50% to $999
Inspired by another post, I created a bike route that circumnavigates the city of San Jose.
The actual border of San Jose is 230 miles long (!!!) but this route is only about 100 miles.
A significant portion is on class I bike paths and quieter suburban streets.
Ride with GPS waypoints here. (untested; updated route eliminating some of the dead-ends)

is it normal for the oil to be very dirty during an oil change?
The photos show the residual oil plus cleaning oil that comes out after the cleaning stage of the oil change instructions.
I'm using the official Rohloff oil change kit. I've had this speedhub for about a year. I bought it stock on a new bicycle. it probably only has about 500-1000 miles on it.
update: the cleaning kit comes with 25mL of cleaning oil... and only about 25mL of dirty oil came out, suggesting the hub didn't have much oil in it to start.
I have had this bike for 24 years, almost a quarter century.
Together we have explored so many trails, raced (unsuccessfully) several XC races, and now haul kids' trailers and cruise on my commute.
Only the stem, headset, seat clamp, and brakes are original. ugly as it is now, I think the frame will outlive me.
new bike day for my daughter. 24.5 lbs even with the rack. 1x9 XT. Couldn't swap the stem because it has an oversized 1 1/4" steerer. Works great with the no-name bosco cruiser bars though.
Strangely the brakes didn't fit over two of the canti studs and I had to file and sand down the studs to get the brakes to mount. Haven't seen that before.
