Advice on moving to Holland and surrounding areas
My husband and I (27F, 26M) are considering a move to western MI in the next year and hoping to find our forever spot. We will be visiting next week to scope it out (flying into Chicago, staying in Grand Rapids). We've lived in Minnesota and Texas and are really hoping to find somewhere that has a great balance of city amenities and access to nature (similar to the outer Minneapolis or Duluth area). Ideally, we would be within a 2/2.5 hour drive of Chicago or Detroit and in a town/city between 20,000 and 60,000 population with a good public school system. We want to be involved in our community and not too isolated. We sit in the middle politically. We both work in healthcare with a household income around $300-400k with an eventual house budget of $600k-1m (more interest in having land than having square footage fwiw). We’re really interested in Holland itself, but want to know where you would recommend in the surrounding area!
