Daytona 126502 White Dial Comparison – VSF DD4131 V2 vs QF JH4131 Free Sprung

I’ve been seeing more 126502 Daytona posts lately, so I wanted to put the VSF DD4131 V2 and QF JH4131 Free Sprung side by side.

Both are the same 40mm 126502 configuration:

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126502
40mm
White dial
Grey / anthracite Cerachrom bezel
Oyster bracelet
Exhibition caseback

The main difference here is the movement:

VSF — DD4131 V2

vs.

QF — JH4131 Free Sprung

And honestly, that makes this a much more interesting comparison than a normal factory-vs-factory Daytona post.

From the front, both watches follow the same 126502 design language. The white dial, dark sub-dial layout, grey ceramic bezel and Oyster bracelet give both watches the same overall appearance.

The first thing I would pay attention to is the dial.

The 126502 is different from the regular 126500LN Panda. The real watch uses a white enamel dial and has a much cleaner monochromatic look, so the dial surface and the contrast of the sub-dials are especially important here.

Looking at these two, the overall dial execution is quite close, but the way the white surface catches the light is something I'd want to compare under identical lighting rather than judging from one QC photo.

The bezel is another big point.

The 126502 uses the newer anthracite Cerachrom bezel with the updated tachymeter layout. This is one of the easiest areas to compare because the bezel is such a visible part of the new reference.

The case and Oyster bracelet are also very similar at first glance. The polished/brushed transitions, end links and clasp finishing become much easier to notice once the watches are placed side by side.

But the real discussion is underneath.

The QF JH4131 Free Sprung is the more interesting movement choice if you're specifically interested in the balance architecture. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, so unlike a normal solid-back Daytona, the movement isn't just something you forget about after buying the watch.

The VSF DD4131 V2 takes a different route. It's the more established DD4131 platform, with VSF's current implementation and what is described as a Free-Sprung Effect rather than a true free-sprung balance.

That's an important distinction.

I wouldn't automatically call the VSF movement “true Free Sprung” just because the visual effect is there.

For me, that's where this comparison gets interesting:

VSF: DD4131 V2, established movement route, Free-Sprung Effect

QF: JH4131, Free Sprung balance architecture

So if you're mainly judging the watch from the front, the difference may come down to dial, bezel, crystal and finishing.

If you're choosing specifically because of the movement, the JH4131 becomes much more interesting.

The 126502 is also one of those references where the exhibition caseback actually matters. On a normal solid-back Daytona, I would probably put much less weight on movement decoration.

Here, you can actually see it.

At this point, I don't think the question is simply:

“Which factory makes the better Daytona?”

It's more:

“Do you prioritize the overall visual execution of the VSF, or the JH4131 Free Sprung movement from QF?”

Personally, I think this is a much more interesting comparison than the usual 126500LN Panda discussion.

The 126502 is still a very new reference, so I'd rather see more real-world ownership reports before making absolute claims about long-term reliability.

If you had to choose between these two 126502 builds, would you take the VSF DD4131 V2 or QF JH4131 Free Sprung?

VSF Rolex Daytona 126502-0001 40mm White Dial — DD4131 Free-Sprung | 2026 Panda Daytona

First QC for the new VSF Rolex Daytona 126502-0001.

This is the 40mm 2026 Daytona with the white enamel dial, black/dark sub-dials, metal-edged Cerachrom bezel, Oyster bracelet and exhibition caseback.

The movement is the DD4131 Free-Sprung version.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the areas I paid the most attention to:

  • Dial printing looks clean and sharp
  • Hour markers appear evenly positioned
  • Sub-dial alignment looks good from the available angles
  • The red DAYTONA text looks properly placed
  • Tachymeter / bezel engraving looks clean
  • Crystal clarity looks good in the macro shots
  • Rehaut engraving looks clean
  • Case finishing looks consistent between the polished and brushed surfaces
  • SEL fitment looks tight with no obvious large gaps
  • Oyster bracelet finishing looks clean
  • Clasp construction and alignment look good
  • Lume is even across the markers and hands
  • The visible DD4131 decoration looks well executed
  • Free-Sprung DD4131 is the main reason I went with this version

The 126502 is still a pretty new release, so I'm especially interested in opinions from people who have been following the 2026 Daytona batches.

I don't have the timegrapher numbers in these photos, so I'm not going to guess at the rate or amplitude.

From the visual QC alone, I don't see an obvious RL. The main things I'd like a second opinion on are the dial/sub-dial alignment, bezel engraving and case finishing.

Factory: VSF
Model: Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126502-0001
Size: 40mm
Dial: White / Black Sub-Dials
Movement: DD4131 Free-Sprung
Bracelet: Oyster
Caseback: Exhibition
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing before I GL?

RICHF V2 Bruce Wayne 126710GRNR Comparison – SH3285 vs JH3285 Free Sprung

I wanted to put the two RICHF V2 Bruce Wayne versions side by side because the interesting part here isn't really the case or bracelet — it's what's inside.

Both are:

Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR
40mm
Black Dial
Grey/Black Cerachrom Bezel
Jubilee Bracelet
RICHF V2

The difference:

SH3285

vs.

JH3285 Free Sprung

From the outside, the two are extremely similar. The case profile, Jubilee bracelet, bezel, dial and overall wrist presence follow the same RICH V2 route, so this isn't really a normal factory-vs-factory comparison.

It's more of a movement comparison within the same RICH V2 platform.

The first thing that caught my attention is the movement architecture.

The SH3285 has the more familiar GMT clone layout that most people have already seen in the community. The movement presentation is fairly conventional, and visually it looks closer to what people normally expect from a 3285 clone.

The JH3285 is the more interesting one here because of the Free Sprung balance setup.

That's probably the biggest reason someone would choose the JH version rather than simply sticking with the SH3285.

Looking at the movement side by side, the balance assembly and overall movement presentation are noticeably different. The JH version gives the movement a more modern, free-sprung look, while the SH version has the more familiar clone architecture.

The other thing I noticed is that the difference isn't really something you see while wearing the watch.

From the front, both give you the same Bruce Wayne experience:

black dial
grey/black bezel
Jubilee bracelet
40mm GMT case

The differences become much more interesting when you look underneath the caseback.

For me, that's what makes this comparison worth discussing.

If you're choosing between the two RICH V2 versions, I don't think the question should simply be:

“Which one looks better?”

They basically share the same visual platform.

The better question is:

“Do you care more about the established SH3285 route, or is the JH3285 Free Sprung architecture worth choosing for you?”

Personally, I think the JH3285 Free Sprung is the more interesting version from a movement perspective, while the SH3285 remains the familiar option.

And that's probably the most interesting thing about this release — RICH isn't giving you two completely different watches. They're giving you two different movement approaches inside essentially the same Bruce Wayne package.

Curious what everyone thinks.

If you were choosing between these two RICH V2 Bruce Waynes, would you take the SH3285 or JH3285 Free Sprung?

Wristwatch check

I've been waiting for this watch for a month and finally got it from the vsf factory. Thank you, Chen, for your efforts

Shout out to Chen!

Just received my watch from Chen, and all I can say is… this thing is bad ass. The quality exceeded my expectations.

Everyone, enjoy the pleasure of wearing a watch to your heart's content. No one will care what you are wearing on your wrist. The only person who asked me about that replica watch was a 9-year-old kid.
