Daytona 126502 White Dial Comparison – VSF DD4131 V2 vs QF JH4131 Free Sprung

I’ve been seeing more 126502 Daytona posts lately, so I wanted to put the VSF DD4131 V2 and QF JH4131 Free Sprung side by side.

Both are the same 40mm 126502 configuration:

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126502
40mm
White dial
Grey / anthracite Cerachrom bezel
Oyster bracelet
Exhibition caseback

The main difference here is the movement:

VSF — DD4131 V2

vs.

QF — JH4131 Free Sprung

And honestly, that makes this a much more interesting comparison than a normal factory-vs-factory Daytona post.

From the front, both watches follow the same 126502 design language. The white dial, dark sub-dial layout, grey ceramic bezel and Oyster bracelet give both watches the same overall appearance.

The first thing I would pay attention to is the dial.

The 126502 is different from the regular 126500LN Panda. The real watch uses a white enamel dial and has a much cleaner monochromatic look, so the dial surface and the contrast of the sub-dials are especially important here.

Looking at these two, the overall dial execution is quite close, but the way the white surface catches the light is something I'd want to compare under identical lighting rather than judging from one QC photo.

The bezel is another big point.

The 126502 uses the newer anthracite Cerachrom bezel with the updated tachymeter layout. This is one of the easiest areas to compare because the bezel is such a visible part of the new reference.

The case and Oyster bracelet are also very similar at first glance. The polished/brushed transitions, end links and clasp finishing become much easier to notice once the watches are placed side by side.

But the real discussion is underneath.

The QF JH4131 Free Sprung is the more interesting movement choice if you're specifically interested in the balance architecture. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, so unlike a normal solid-back Daytona, the movement isn't just something you forget about after buying the watch.

The VSF DD4131 V2 takes a different route. It's the more established DD4131 platform, with VSF's current implementation and what is described as a Free-Sprung Effect rather than a true free-sprung balance.

That's an important distinction.

I wouldn't automatically call the VSF movement “true Free Sprung” just because the visual effect is there.

For me, that's where this comparison gets interesting:

VSF: DD4131 V2, established movement route, Free-Sprung Effect

QF: JH4131, Free Sprung balance architecture

So if you're mainly judging the watch from the front, the difference may come down to dial, bezel, crystal and finishing.

If you're choosing specifically because of the movement, the JH4131 becomes much more interesting.

The 126502 is also one of those references where the exhibition caseback actually matters. On a normal solid-back Daytona, I would probably put much less weight on movement decoration.

Here, you can actually see it.

At this point, I don't think the question is simply:

“Which factory makes the better Daytona?”

It's more:

“Do you prioritize the overall visual execution of the VSF, or the JH4131 Free Sprung movement from QF?”

Personally, I think this is a much more interesting comparison than the usual 126500LN Panda discussion.

The 126502 is still a very new reference, so I'd rather see more real-world ownership reports before making absolute claims about long-term reliability.

If you had to choose between these two 126502 builds, would you take the VSF DD4131 V2 or QF JH4131 Free Sprung?

116610LV “Hulk” Comparison – ARF VS3135 vs VSF VS3135 | Dial, Bezel, Cyclops & Lume

I wanted to put the ARF and VSF 116610LV Hulk side by side because these two are actually quite interesting when you stop looking at them as simply “another green Sub.”

Both are:

Rolex Submariner Date 116610LV
40mm
Green Dial
Green Ceramic Bezel
Oyster Bracelet
3135 Clone Movement

ARF — VS3135

vs.

VSF — VS3135

Looking at the first few shots, the biggest difference for me is the green.

The ARF has a deeper, richer green appearance in these photos, while the VSF looks darker and more black-green depending on the angle.

That's one of the difficult things about comparing the Hulk.

The dial and bezel can change quite a lot under different lighting, so I wouldn't call one “correct” based on a single photo.

The Cyclops and datewheel are easier to compare.

The ARF sample is showing 23, while the VSF is showing 27.

The VSF Cyclops looks particularly clean in the close-up shots. The magnification is more obvious and the date is very easy to read.

That's probably one of the areas where the difference becomes noticeable in normal wear, because the date window is basically impossible to ignore on a Submariner Date.

The dial printing and markers are also quite clean on both.

The overall layout is very similar, but the way the green dial catches the light is different. The ARF has a stronger green presence in these photos, while the VSF has a darker appearance with more contrast between the black dial surface and the green tones.

Moving to the case and crown, both have the familiar 116610LV profile.

The crown guards, case side and polished/brushed transitions are close, but the finishing doesn't reflect light in exactly the same way.

This is one of those things that becomes much easier to judge in hand than from QC photos.

The bracelet and clasp are another interesting comparison.

Both use the Oyster bracelet and solid end links, but the finishing on the links and clasp gives each one a slightly different feel.

ARF has always been interesting to me from a case and bracelet perspective, while VSF seems to put more emphasis on the complete package and small details.

Then there's the lume.

The last comparison shot makes this one pretty obvious.

The VSF lume is noticeably brighter in this particular set of photos, with a stronger blue glow across the dial and bezel pip.

The ARF is still clearly lumed, but the VSF has the stronger visual impact here.

And finally, the movement.

Both are being presented as 3135 clone configurations, so I don't think this should turn into another “one movement destroys the other” argument.

For this comparison, I'd rather focus on what we can actually see:

ARF: strong case and bracelet presence, richer green appearance in these photos.

VSF: stronger Cyclops/date presentation, very clean overall finishing and noticeably stronger lume in this set.

That's why I think the more interesting question isn't simply:

“Which Hulk is better?”

It's:

“Which details matter most to you on a 116610LV?”

If it's the green dial/bezel and metalwork, I can understand the ARF argument.

If it's crystal clarity, Cyclops, date presentation and lume, I can understand why someone would lean VSF.

Personally, I think both are close enough that the differences become more about priorities than a simple GL/RL decision.

Curious what everyone thinks.

If you had one slot for a 40mm 116610LV Hulk, would you take ARF VS3135 or VSF VS3135?

VSF Rolex Submariner Date 126619LB “Cookie Monster” 41mm — DD3235 | Black Dial / Blue Bezel

First QC for a VSF Rolex Submariner Date 126619LB Cookie Monster.

This is the 41mm SS/SS configuration with the black dial, blue ceramic bezel, Oyster bracelet and DD3235 Super Clone movement.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the main areas I'm checking:

Dial printing looks clean and sharp
Hour markers appear evenly positioned
12 o'clock triangle marker looks centered
6 and 9 o'clock markers look straight
Rolex coronet and dial text look properly positioned
Date window looks centered under the Cyclops
Date printing looks clean
Hand alignment looks good from the available photos
Blue bezel color looks consistent
Bezel numerals look sharp
Bezel pip looks reasonably centered
Crystal clarity looks good
Laser-etched crown at 6 o'clock is visible
Rehaut finishing looks clean from the available angles
Crown and crown guards look properly finished
Case brushing and polished surfaces look consistent
Oyster bracelet links look uniform
SEL fitment looks clean with no obvious large gaps
Clasp finishing looks good
Lume looks even across the dial and bezel pip

The main things I'm checking on this one are the index alignment, date wheel, Cyclops, bezel pip and SEL fitment.

The 6 o'clock marker is something I specifically wanted to look at. I've seen it discussed on previous VSF 126619LB QCs, so I'd appreciate another set of eyes on the alignment here.

The blue bezel also looks pretty consistent across the different lighting conditions. I'm mainly looking for actual alignment issues rather than trying to judge very small color differences caused by photography and white balance.

The date looks nicely positioned under the Cyclops in the available photos, and the dial printing appears clean.

The Oyster bracelet and SELs also look good from these angles. I don't see any obvious large gaps between the end links and case.

Overall, I don't see an obvious RL from the photos, but I'd appreciate some experienced opinions before I give it the GL.

Factory: VSF
Model: Rolex Submariner Date 126619LB Cookie Monster
Size: 41mm
Configuration: SS/SS
Dial: Black
Bezel: Blue Ceramic
Movement: DD3235 / Dandong 3235 Super Clone
Crystal: Sapphire + Cyclops
Bracelet: Oyster
Caseback: Solid
Date: 3 o'clock
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing, especially around the 6 o'clock marker, date/Cyclops alignment, bezel pip or SELs?

Can You Really Swim With a 100m Water-Resistant Watch?

You see “100m Water Resistant” on a watch and it sounds simple:

100 meters = safe to 100 meters underwater.

But that's not actually how water resistance ratings work.

The number refers to pressure resistance under controlled testing conditions, not a recommended diving depth.

1. What Does 100m Actually Mean?

A watch rated at 100m / 10 ATM is tested against pressure equivalent to approximately 100 meters of static water pressure.

But real-world conditions are different.

Your wrist is constantly moving.

Swimming, jumping into water, or moving your arm can create additional dynamic pressure.

So:

100m ≠ “I can dive to 100m.”

2. What About Swimming?

For a properly maintained watch with a genuine 100m water-resistance rating, normal recreational swimming is generally within the intended use of that rating.

But there are still important variables:

  • Condition of the seals
  • Crown position
  • Previous servicing
  • Temperature changes
  • Impact or damage to the case
  • Age of the watch

The rating is only meaningful if the watch is actually maintaining that level of water resistance.

3. The Crown Is One of the Weak Points

The crown is one of the most important sealing points on a watch.

A screw-down crown helps create a secure seal against the case.

But if the crown is:

  • Not fully screwed down
  • Damaged
  • Worn
  • Incorrectly assembled

water resistance can be compromised.

That's why you should never operate a crown or pusher underwater unless the watch is specifically designed for that operation.

4. Water Resistance Doesn't Last Forever

This is one of the most overlooked points.

Gaskets and seals can deteriorate over time.

Heat, chemicals, aging, and repeated opening of the case can affect their performance.

A watch can therefore have:

100m Water Resistance on paper

but perform differently years later if it hasn't been properly maintained.

5. What About Salt Water and Chlorinated Water?

Water itself isn't the only concern.

Salt water and chlorine can affect:

  • Seals
  • Metal surfaces
  • Bracelet components
  • Case finishing

After swimming, rinsing the exterior with fresh water and drying the watch is a good habit when the watch's water resistance is known to be intact.

The Important Takeaway

Water-resistance ratings should be thought of as pressure ratings under defined test conditions, not literal diving-depth guarantees.

So a 100m-rated watch isn't automatically a 100-meter dive watch.

The real question isn't only:

>

It's also:

>

💬 Discussion

What water-resistance rating do you consider enough for everyday use?

30m / 50m / 100m / 200m+?

ARF Rolex GMT-Master II 126710BLRO “Pepsi” 40mm — DD3285 | Black Dial / Oyster Bracelet

First QC for an ARF GMT-Master II “Coke”.

This is the fantasy black-and-red configuration with a black dial, black/red ceramic GMT bezel, Oyster bracelet and DD3285 Super Clone movement.

The black/red bezel is the main reason I went for this version. I know this isn't the same factory configuration as the classic blue/red Pepsi, so I'm mainly interested in the actual QC rather than comparing it directly to a Pepsi.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the areas I'm mainly checking:

Dial printing looks clean and sharp
Hour markers appear evenly positioned
Rolex coronet and dial text look properly placed
Date wheel looks centered under the Cyclops
Date printing looks clean
GMT hand alignment looks good
Correct GMT hand stack is present
Independently adjustable hour hand is the main functional point I'm looking for
Black/red ceramic bezel looks clean
12 o'clock bezel triangle appears reasonably centered
Red/black color transition looks consistent
Ceramic bezel numerals look sharp
Crystal clarity looks good
Rehaut finishing looks clean from the available angles
Case brushing and polished surfaces look consistent
Crown and crown guards look clean
Oyster bracelet links look uniform
SEL fitment looks tight with no obvious large gaps
Clasp finishing looks clean
Lume looks even across the hands and hour markers

The bezel is probably the first thing I wanted to check on this one. The black/red combination is very noticeable, so I'm mainly looking at the 12 o'clock triangle, the color transition and the overall bezel alignment.

I'm also paying close attention to the GMT hand stack and date wheel. The DD3285 is one of the main reasons I chose this version, so the GMT functionality matters more to me than trying to judge tiny movement-decoration differences from the caseback photo.

The Oyster bracelet and SEL fitment also look good from the available angles. I don't see any obvious large gaps between the end links and case.

The scale shows approximately 145.4g.

There aren't clear timegrapher numbers in this QC set, so I'm not going to guess at the rate, amplitude or beat error.

I don't see an obvious RL from these photos, but I'd appreciate another set of eyes before I give it the GL.

Factory: ARF
Model: GMT-Master II “Coke” / Fantasy Coke GMT
Size: 40mm
Dial: Black
Bezel: Black / Red Ceramic
Movement: DD3285 / Dandong 3285 Super Clone
Hand Stack: Correct GMT Hand Stack
Bracelet: Oyster
Case Material: 904L Stainless Steel
Caseback: Solid
Weight: ~145.4g
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing, especially around the 12 o'clock bezel triangle, black/red transition, GMT hand alignment, date wheel or SELs?

Patek Philippe 5712 OME vs PPF, which one would you pick

Hi,

I have been trying to get a 5712 for myself but torn down between whether I should go for OME or PPF. From the rep watch-pedia, OME seems to be the preferred choice because of the dial and the hands finishing etc. Looking at some of the posts in this sub, I can see that is actually true as well. However, sourcing a 5712 from OME seems a really challenging task now a days. I have discussed this with a couple of TDs that I usually work with and they can not commit to providing a tentative time line if I were to get it sourced from OME. On the other hand, PPF seems to be rolling these out relatively quickly. I would like to hear your opinion (especially if you own one of either OME or PPF) on whether it is worth waiting for OME or PPF does a good enough job. I am usually not into mods so I would not be changing anything if I end up getting PPF.

As always, i appreciate your comments and thoughts. Have a good one.

Thanks

3KF Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968 — Blue Dial / Blue Strap | 9015-Based Movement

First QC for a 3KF Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968.

This one has the blue embossed Aquanaut dial, blue rubber strap and rose-gold-tone case.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the areas I'm mainly checking:

Aquanaut embossed dial pattern looks clean and consistent
Blue dial color looks even under different lighting
Arabic numerals appear properly positioned
Chronograph sub-dial alignment looks good
Date window at 3 o'clock looks centered
Chronograph hand appears properly aligned
Case and rounded-octagonal bezel shape look clean
Polished and brushed finishing look consistent
Case profile looks good from the side shots
Blue rubber strap embossing looks clean
Folding clasp looks properly aligned
Sapphire caseback looks clean
Movement finishing looks consistent through the display back
Lume looks even across the hands and hour markers

The embossed dial pattern is probably the main thing I'm checking on this one. The pattern can make small alignment issues harder to judge from angled QC photos, so I'm mainly looking at the numerals, chronograph registers and date window.

The case finishing is another area I'm paying attention to. The contrast between the polished and brushed surfaces is quite noticeable on the 5968.

I don't see an obvious RL from these photos, but I'd appreciate another set of eyes before I give it the GL.

There aren't clear timegrapher numbers in this QC set, so I'm not going to guess at the rate, amplitude or beat error.

Factory: 3KF
Model: Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968
Size: 42.2mm
Dial: Blue Embossed Aquanaut
Case: Rose Gold-tone
Strap: Blue Rubber
Movement: 9015-based
Functions: Chronograph + Date
Weight: ~94.9g
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing, especially around the dial, chronograph registers, date alignment or case finishing?

DDF Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-010 40mm Blue Dial — DPB330 Super Clone V2 | SW Dial

First QC for a DDF Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-010.

This is the 40mm stainless steel version with the blue textured/gradient dial, integrated stainless steel bracelet and DPB330 Super Clone V2 with the SW dial.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the areas I'm mainly checking:

Blue textured dial looks clean and consistent
Horizontal dial pattern looks even
Patek Philippe / Genève printing looks sharp
12 o'clock marker looks centered
6 and 9 o'clock markers look straight
Hour markers appear evenly spaced
Date window at 3 o'clock looks properly positioned
Date printing looks clean
Hand alignment looks good from the available photos
Nautilus bezel shape looks clean
Brushed and polished case finishing looks consistent
Case-to-bracelet transition looks tight
Integrated bracelet links look uniform
Clasp finishing looks clean
Crystal clarity looks good
Movement decoration looks clean through the display caseback
Lume looks even across the hands and markers

The 12 o'clock marker is probably the main thing I'm checking on a 5711. The spacing between the 12 marker and the neighboring indices can make a good or bad dial pretty obvious, so I'd appreciate another set of eyes on that area.

I'm also looking closely at the blue dial color and horizontal texture. The dial can look noticeably darker or more blue depending on the lighting, so I'm trying not to judge the color from one photo alone.

The integrated bracelet is another important point on this model. Since there are no traditional SELs to inspect, I'm mainly looking at the first links, case-to-bracelet transition, link gaps and overall bracelet finishing.

The scale shows approximately 127.0g.

I don't see an obvious RL from these photos, but I'd appreciate some experienced opinions before I give it the GL.

There are no clear timegrapher numbers in this QC set, so I'm not going to guess at the rate, amplitude or beat error.

Factory: DDF
Model: Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-010
Size: 40mm
Dial: Blue Textured / Blue-Black Gradient
Dial Version: SW Dial
Movement: DPB330 Super Clone V2
Case: Stainless Steel
Bracelet: Integrated Stainless Steel
Weight: ~127.0g
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing, especially around the 12 marker, dial texture, date alignment or case-to-bracelet transition?

Best rep dress watch?

What is the best rep dress watch out there? Aside from the Calatrava.

If there aren't any good ones, are there any good reps with decent leather straps? So, like a pilot watch, etc.

What puts me off getting a rep dress watch, or any rep with a leather strap, is the strap quality and the hassle of finding a decent strap for it.

I got a Longines, and the strap was terrible. Now, to be fair, I haven't felt the genuine version, so it could be terrible too.

VSF Rolex Daytona 126502-0001 40mm White Dial — DD4131 Free-Sprung | 2026 Panda Daytona

First QC for the new VSF Rolex Daytona 126502-0001.

This is the 40mm 2026 Daytona with the white enamel dial, black/dark sub-dials, metal-edged Cerachrom bezel, Oyster bracelet and exhibition caseback.

The movement is the DD4131 Free-Sprung version.

I've gone through the QC photos and these are the areas I paid the most attention to:

  • Dial printing looks clean and sharp
  • Hour markers appear evenly positioned
  • Sub-dial alignment looks good from the available angles
  • The red DAYTONA text looks properly placed
  • Tachymeter / bezel engraving looks clean
  • Crystal clarity looks good in the macro shots
  • Rehaut engraving looks clean
  • Case finishing looks consistent between the polished and brushed surfaces
  • SEL fitment looks tight with no obvious large gaps
  • Oyster bracelet finishing looks clean
  • Clasp construction and alignment look good
  • Lume is even across the markers and hands
  • The visible DD4131 decoration looks well executed
  • Free-Sprung DD4131 is the main reason I went with this version

The 126502 is still a pretty new release, so I'm especially interested in opinions from people who have been following the 2026 Daytona batches.

I don't have the timegrapher numbers in these photos, so I'm not going to guess at the rate or amplitude.

From the visual QC alone, I don't see an obvious RL. The main things I'd like a second opinion on are the dial/sub-dial alignment, bezel engraving and case finishing.

Factory: VSF
Model: Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 126502-0001
Size: 40mm
Dial: White / Black Sub-Dials
Movement: DD4131 Free-Sprung
Bracelet: Oyster
Caseback: Exhibition
QC: Leaning GL

Anything obvious I'm missing before I GL?
