Patek Philippe 5712 OME vs PPF, which one would you pick

Hi,

I have been trying to get a 5712 for myself but torn down between whether I should go for OME or PPF. From the rep watch-pedia, OME seems to be the preferred choice because of the dial and the hands finishing etc. Looking at some of the posts in this sub, I can see that is actually true as well. However, sourcing a 5712 from OME seems a really challenging task now a days. I have discussed this with a couple of TDs that I usually work with and they can not commit to providing a tentative time line if I were to get it sourced from OME. On the other hand, PPF seems to be rolling these out relatively quickly. I would like to hear your opinion (especially if you own one of either OME or PPF) on whether it is worth waiting for OME or PPF does a good enough job. I am usually not into mods so I would not be changing anything if I end up getting PPF.

As always, i appreciate your comments and thoughts. Have a good one.

Thanks

GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285

Dealer name: Time Ultra ( Leo )

Factory name: VSF

Model name (& version number): GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285

Price Paid: $618 + shipping

Album Links: NA (shared through Whatsapp). I have added videos in the comments.

Index alignment: The actual pictures seemed rotated to me as I received those from the TD. I have applied a little rotation in the QC tool (-0.7) and seemed to help a bit but I am not sure how much of the rotation can one should apply without concealing the real defects in the dial. The 12 O'clock triangle marker looks off centered to me like other QCs that I received from the TDs. The markers at 3 and 9 seem to within tolerable deviation to me. The marker at 6 seems to be canted cw though.

Dial Printing: Seems fine

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks centered for the double digit. I have requested for more pictures with single digit date as well.

Hand Alignment: Can not exactly tell from the images and videos shared with me. I have asked for a few more clips from the TD.

Bezel: Nothing obviously bad

Solid End Links (SELs): Look fine to me.

Timegrapher numbers: +4 s/d, 258 amp, lift angle 52 and within tolerance

Anything else you notice:
Nothing else other than 12 being a little off-centred and same with 6 but these might not be noticeable on the writes with an angle.

GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi jublee 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285 | Time ultra

Dealer name: Time Ultra (Leo)

Factory name: VSF

Model name (& version number): GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285

Price Paid: $618 + shipping

Album Links: NA (shared through Whatsapp). I have added videos in the comments.

Index alignment: The actual pictures seemed rotated to me as received those from the TD. I have applied a little rotation in the QC tool (-1.5) and seemed to help a bit. The 12 O'clock triangle marker still look off centered to me and that disturbs the whole symmetry of the dial when I look at the zoomed in image from the front. The markers at 3, 6 and 9 seem to within tolerable deviation to me. Thoughts?

Dial Printing: Seems fine

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks centered for the double digit. I have requested for more pictures with single digit date as well.

Hand Alignment: Can not exactly tell from the images and videos shared with me. I have asked for a few more clips from the TD.

Bezel: Nothing obviously bad

Solid End Links (SELs): Look fine to me.

Timegrapher numbers: +2 s/d, 267 amp, lift angle 52 and within tolerance

Anything else you notice: I understand that these are rep watches and there is so much that can be done to maintain the quality of the finishing, especially when a factory is pumping out hundreds of watches every year. This crooked 12 O' clock triangle marker seems to be an issue with the latest VSF badge? Looking from distance (picture 3, 4) and at an angle where the watch would be (on left wrist) this seems less prominent though. What do you guys think about this watch based on your personal QC experiences?

Datejust 126234 36mm Wimbledon Jub SS/SS Grey/Rmn VSF V2 DD3235 | TimeUltra

Dealer name: Time Ultra ( Leo )

Factory name: VSF

Model name (and version number): Datejust 126234 36mm Wimbledon Jub SS/SS Grey/Rmn VSF V2 DD3235

Price Paid: $488 + shipping

Album Links: NA (shared through Whatsapp and it seems to be Leo's preferred way to do QC which I am not a big fan of). I will add videos in the comments section.

Index alignment: Looks good to me.

Dial Printing: eems fine. Can not tell much about the sunburst effect as the pictures were taken
indoors and there are reflections in the crystal.

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks centered. I have requested for more pictures with both single and dual digit dates .

Hand Alignment: Looks Good to me. I have requested for more pictures and video clip to confirm alignment.

Bezel: Well, it is not white gold but looks good for what it is.

Solid End Links (SELs): Look fine to me.

Timegrapher numbers: -1 s/d, 301 amp, lift angle 52. Seems to be on the edge this one. I have read some where that the amp should be less than 300. Thoughts ?

Anything else you notice: I am not a huge fan of Leo's QC approach tbh. I am yet to see date change mechanism and hands movement in general, and I have already asked Leo to arrange for a short video clip. Based on what I can see, I am more inclined towards GL. What do you guys think about this watch based on your personal QC experiences?

1st QC | GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285 | TimeUltra

Dealer name: Time Ultra ( Leo )

Factory name: VSF

Model name (& version number): GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3 DD3285

Price Paid: $618 + shipping

Album Links: NA (shared through Whatsapp and it seems to be Leo's preferred way to do QC which I am not a big fan of). I have added videos in the comments.

Index alignment: The dial and indices in the picture look canted CCW imo. I have applied 0.6 degree rotation for the QC and this is the best calibration that I could do. Even then the 6'O clock marker seems out of position. I have attached calibration from two different tools for reference.

Dial Printing: Seems fine

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks centered for single digit. I have requested for more pictures with dual digit date as well.

Hand Alignment: Looks Good to me

Bezel: Nothing obviously bad

Solid End Links (SELs): Look fine to me.

Timegrapher numbers: -1 s/d, 292 amp, lift angle 52. Seems to be within tolerance

Anything else you notice: Nothing apart from the pictures not being straight enough and that might have been the cause of tilt. I am yet to see date change mechanism and hands movement in general, and I have already asked Leo to arrange for a short video clip. The 6 O'clock being off-centered could be a deal breaker here but it could be due to the picture quality (or lack of it). Overall, I am more inclined (tiny bit more) towards GL over RL based on what I can see. What do you guys think about this watch based on your personal QC experiences?

1st QC | VSF Pepsi V3 | TheOneWatches (Steve)

Hey beautiful people !

I am new to this rep game and decided to pull the trigger on a couple of GMT watches after doing a fair bit of homework (or so it seems).

This is my first QC, and I’ve been really excited about this particular Pepsi. I placed the order for this piece over a month ago and received the photos today. I’d greatly appreciate any feedback. Thank you for your help and for everything you contribute to this community.

Dealer name: The One Watches ( Steve )

Factory name: VSF

Model name (& version number): GMT Master II 126710 Pepsi Jub 40mm SS/SS Black VSF V3

DD3285 Super Clone

Price Paid: $638

Album Links: https://mega.nz/folder/jIBjHKxZ#DYt4pRWjmDJljEhUidW1YQ

Index alignment: 12 marker is just a little bit off-centered. I do not think that it will be an issue looking from a distance (an arms length). 6 and 9 look OK to me as well.

Dial Printing: Looks clean

Date Wheel alignment/printing: The printed digits looks centered. I have asked Steve for other pictures showing double digit date. What are your thoughts on the cyclops positioning as the camera angle certainly changes the perspective.

Hand Alignment: Looks Good

Bezel: Seems fine as well.

Solid End Links (SELs): Look fine to me. May be the top right SEL has a tiny gap but that again is un-noticeable.

Timegrapher numbers: +5 s/d, 271 amp, lift angle 59.2. The amplitude and the correction seems within range but I am not sure about the lift angle.

Anything else you notice:

The date changes a bit earlier. The video shows that it jumps 3 minutes before the hour circle is completed. I am not sure how much it bothers others, I have never noticed my other watches this close, so it feels unnoticeable. What do you guys think about it from GL/RL perspective? The other observation is that the watch seems to be tilted a bit forward and to the left in the picture so that might be contributing to the index alignment here. Apart from these, do you guys notice anything else that can be an eye-sore or an easy giveaway for it being a rep (from distance)?

Thank you for your time and opinions.

Opinion - Best factory for Vacheron Constantin reps

Hi,

Recently I have been on a look out for my first VC rep. With all focus on Rolex and Omegas etc, I feel like the info related to VC rep could be a little outdated. I have gone through the reptime wiki and included links there to check which factory makes the best rep for VC. MKF and MXFwere supposed to be the first choice for the models that I am interested in but I can not follow the trail of these factories/TDs. So far, what i can see is that 8F is the factory that is still producing rep of the VCs (of my interest) or that it is relatively easier to source from this factory via TD but I have not seen any mention of 8F in the forums about them being good. If any one here has experience with 8F VCs then I will appreciate your feedback. Here is what I am after:

\- Overseas 7900V 41 mm SS/SS Blue Dial

\- Overseas Perpetual Calendar 4300V SS/SS White/Stk

Thanks in advance.

PS: A big shout out to r/goaliestopper for his feedback.

First time planning rep - need some pointers

Hey All,

I have joined this group (and similar) to educate myself about the whole rep watch domain. I have done a fair bit of reading and looked at how/what people look for in the watch when someone asks for QC assistance. I would like to mention that I am not a very keen reader so I might have missed on a lot of important information. I have realised that is a whole new world with so many quirks (for different models). At this stage I have short-listed some of the TDs (steve, fico, timeultra etc) based on community's feedback but I would like to hear about your opinions in finalising one (from within this list or outside of it). Here is some info that might be relevant in the context:

Current location: uae

Watches that I am looking for: BruceWayne, Batman, Hulk

Budget: around $600 (based on the catalog that i have seen so far)

I would really appreciate if you guys could share your own experience buying (or QCing) these models and which factory should I go with to get these models from TDs. As I mentioned that this is my first time planning to get a rep so take it easy if any part of my post annoys you :). Hopefully I will have my first rep soon and slowly I can contribute back to the community.

Thanks

Kitten bites: where do you guys go to get vaccinated ?

Hi

I have been bitten by kitten (while trying to treat them for eye infection). I visited fakeeh university hospital and they told me to visit government hospital to get vaccinated. Most of the government hospitals are closed today and i am finding it a bit challenging to find the right facility for treatment.

Any suggestions ?

Hi All,

Last weekend I was on my way way out of uae via Auh/Ksa border while driving at 153 km/hr (on 160 km/hr highway). In between there was a patch with cones and 3 lanes changed to one and a variable speed limit was enforced in.e. 120 km/hr for that patch. By the time I noticed it, it was too late and the cameras picked up my car. Now i have a fine to pay (understandable so) but i wanted to check few things:

- Is it worth contesting since it was a patch with downgraded speed limit (apparently temporarily) ?

- If i go through the link (to pay fine) which was included in the violation message from Auh authorities then i will have to pay 390 aed instead of 600 aed. However, the rta app shows that i should pay 600 aed to settle the fine. Is this expected ?

Thanks

These are new borns roughly 2 months old with ballooned eyes. Their eyes are stick together every morning and I use wet cloth to clean and open their eyes. 2 out if the four kittens have gone back to usual now but the remaining two are still suffering from this infection and I have a feeling that this baby is getting worst. I used to see alot of green fluid coming out of their eyes initially but then the fluid has reduced now with regular cleaning routine. These are stray kittens and staying in our backyard. Can I get some suggestions about the vet who can treat these kittens without costing me fortune ?

I am happy to spend some money if it means that the kittens will avoid going blind but some of the vets here are super expensive.

I live in Al aweer (dubai) and can travel within dubai to show them to a vet.

Thanks

Updates (since I saw a lot of concerned people here):

5-5-2026 The vet prescribed antibiotics and we will do a follow up with vet after 3 days.
