Assalamu alaykum,

Is taking mixed buses or metros considered free mixing in Islamic rulings if there is no direct interaction, I am sitting in my own seat, and men are simply around me (in front, behind, or standing due to crowding)?

Or is this considered normal public co-presence in Islam?

I have done some research, but I am finding different opinions — some saying that as long as one maintains distance it is permissible, and others saying it is impermissible. I would like to better understand the scholarly views on this matter.

Any references to reliable scholarly fatwas would be appreciated
