How do you decide whether to check out a Japanese metal band you’ve never heard of?

I’m thinking about trying SoundCloud Amplify, which recommends a new track to a small group of listeners who might be into that kind of music.

It made me curious about how people here actually discover new Japanese metal.

Do any of you use SoundCloud for discovering Japanese metal in the first place?

And when you come across a Japanese metal band you’ve never heard of, what actually makes you give them a listen?

Is it the artwork / thumbnail?
The band name or song title?
Genre tags?
Seeing them recommended next to a band you already like?
Someone else recommending or reacting to them?
Or do you generally give unfamiliar bands a shot just because they’re Japanese metal?

Basically, I’m curious about that exact moment where you go from “never heard of them” to “eh, I’ll give this a listen.”

Would love to hear how people here actually discover new bands.

Six months of taking YouTube seriously, but almost no subscriber growth. What is actually working for AI music creators?

I’ve been taking YouTube seriously for a little over six months, but my subscriber count has barely grown.

More importantly, I often feel like the music is not reaching the people who would actually enjoy it.

It has made me wonder whether AI-generated music still has a much higher barrier than other music, or whether I’m simply approaching discovery and promotion the wrong way.

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who are actively trying to build a real music project rather than just uploading a large number of generations.

What have you tried to help your music reach the right listeners?

For example, I’ve been doing some slow, manual outreach to curators, asking them to listen, and occasionally getting songs introduced or shared. I’ve also been distributing content across different platforms and experimenting with both vertical and horizontal videos.

But so far, none of it seems to have created meaningful YouTube subscriber growth.

Have any of these worked for you?

  • Shorts or vertical videos
  • Full-length music videos
  • Curator or playlist outreach
  • Reddit or Discord communities
  • Collaborations
  • Paid promotion
  • Posting on multiple platforms
  • Building around a character, story, or specific genre
  • Something completely different

I’m not looking for a shortcut or trying to promote my channel here. I’d genuinely like to understand what people have tested, what failed, and what has actually brought in listeners who stayed.

Do you think the main obstacle is the AI label itself, the quality of the music, audience targeting, YouTube’s discovery system, or something else?

Are there any Suno / AI music showcase events outside the app?

I’ve been wondering about something beyond just posting tracks inside Suno.

Are there any communities or events where people showcase Suno / AI-generated music outside the app — for example on YouTube, live-streamed events, online festivals, or curated showcase programs?

In Japan, I’ve started seeing some AI music creators appear in YouTube-based online events, and it made me wonder how common this is in other countries.

Do people here mostly keep their music inside Suno, or are some of you publishing / performing / showcasing it through YouTube, Spotify, livestreams, Discord events, or other platforms?

I’d be really curious to know what exists.

[metalcore] AI Loud Rock

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, so please let me know if the format is wrong.

I’m working on AGOMETAL, a Japanese AI-assisted loud rock / metalcore project.

This track is called “AIラウドロック” — roughly “AI Loud Rock.” It’s built around a simple question:

Can AI-assisted music actually hit as loud rock?

AI is used as a production source, but the track is rebuilt through DAW editing, mixing, mastering, visuals, and world-building.

I’d love honest feedback on the mix, vocals, riffs, arrangement, and whether the energy feels closer to real loud rock / metalcore or still too much like AI output.

How are you fixing cymbals in AI metal?

One wall I keep hitting with AI metalcore is cymbal clarity.

Suno can get riffs and energy surprisingly close, but in dense mixes the cymbals often smear into the high-end instead of feeling like a real drum kit.

I recently finished a track and that’s still the part I’m not fully happy with.

For people rebuilding Suno tracks in a DAW:
do you usually work from the stereo mix, or separate stems and treat drums on their own?

Curious where the tradeoff feels right.
