What is this bug? It came in from outside inside my house into our bedroom!!! Can’t find it now but its inside
Last night in Canada we noticed a bunch of these dark bugs clustering on our outside brick wall near a light (apparently common behavior?). One somehow got inside our finished basement while we were in bed. We heard a super loud buzzing noise and saw a huge dark bug flying fast around the room. My pregnant wife immediately jumped out of bed.
Bug description: dark brown/black, rounded oval shape, about 1-2cm long, flies extremely fast, makes a very loud buzzing noise.
We couldn’t find it so tried to sleep but heard the buzzing again and ended up moving upstairs. This morning found two on the brick wall inside near the basement. Attaching a photo.
Is this a June bug? We have a baby on the way so just want to confirm it’s completely harmless and not something we need to worry about. Also any tips on keeping them out or does it die on its own? My wife is not sleeping until we find and kill it
