Hey everyone as the title states I’m a rising junior at UMD college park but I just figured out I want to get my degree in social work not psychology like I pivoted to first semester after switching from bio. I will either be transferring in the spring of 2027 or fall of 2027 preferably this spring if I can do all online classes. So I come here to ask should I do my BSW at UMBC or at UMBC shady grove? What is campus life like at UMBC and what should I know before transferring from UMD? Any advice would be great since this seems like my best option to finish out my bachelors degree and get a BSW since UMD doesn’t offer that

Hello! I’m going to be a junior at UMD next semester in the BS Psychology program but my whole goal since I started my sophomore year was to get my MSW so I’m going to transfer to another UMD campus that has a BSW option. My current campus doesn’t have a social work program. However I’m trying to figure out when to transfer. The application deadline for spring 2027 is October 15 which I think is what I want to do because the adviser said I could finish all the classes in 3 semesters, however my lease T my apartment for next year is for a full year. So should I transfer my senior year or spring semester junior year and figure out subletting my apartment and live at home? Anyways just looking for advice on what I should do

For everyone who called me a idiot I stayed off canvas until I got the text this morning. Maybe don’t say they just let anyone into UMD for someone just not knowing something and maybe don’t be rude behind a keyboard. We all got in based on the same qualifications. Also I’ve been slowly catching up on work today and I just have 3 more assignments to go before my last 3 finals yay!

Hey guys so I never logged out of my canvas app on my phone and it's now showing me all of my classes as usual instead of the something went wrong message. Is it ok to use it? I really need to get work done but idk how to keep my data safe since I keep myself signed into the mobile app all the time. it/software ppl what should I do??

Hey everyone so I will be a junior next semester and I really haven’t enjoyed my time at UMD. I want to get my masters in social work and so ideally I would get my BSW but only UMBC and shady grove offer that. So my question is should I finish up the classes I need to take/retake at UMD CP between now and winter 2027 and transfer? I’m going to meet with the bsw advisors at UMD shady grove soon to talk it over and make sure I can get the pre requisites done before spring 2027 but what do you guys think I should do?? I’m currently a psychology major
