“What are we doing this weekend?”
We have three girls every weekend (5, 8 & 10) and every weekend I know the “what are we doing” “last weekend wasn’t fun” commentary will roll in the second they hop in the car. Bio mom is fully supported by her parents (lives with them) and they live an extravagant life on top of my husband paying child support every month. Nothing we do is ever fun or exciting enough for them. They have a pool, huge playset, go to Fun Zones etc at bio moms… it’s like we’re the chumps who babysit them on the weekend- yet, they never want to go back to bio moms. They hate living with their grandparents. We can’t afford a pool or to go to the zoo every weekend, our local museum isn’t fun for kids either- so we try to take them on new trail ways, do fun art projects, check out different local parks, make movie nights feel special etc.
Just wondering what everyone does on the weekends with their step kids, do we just have imposter syndrome?? I don’t know lol
