Trying to figure out the best way to organize my room
I've been deliberating recently on how I could best reorganize my room, but I can't ever seem to come up with a good alternative to how it is now. This being a rental, I can't change a whole lot about the room itself; notably, the two sets of giant pocket doors shown at the left and bottom of the image.
The left set of doors opens into the main living area of the apartment, where everyone is usually spending their day. As such, there's usually a lot of talking, commotion, and just a lot of energy there, I feel, so I'd like to keep my bed as far from there as possible.
The bottom set of doors open into the other bedroom, but they usually stay shut. They tend to rattle when windows are open/doors are being closed, so I've resorted to pushing stuff against them to keep them from moving easily and creating noise.
My desk, and where I usually spend most of my day, is a tower-style corner desk much like this desk, except that that it doesn't have the top shelves. I quite like where it is now, since I can both see outside the larger window, which open towards the porch and the road in front of the building, but also because I can see the door, and when one of my housemates comes in. I struggle to see how it may go anywhere else, unfortunately.
Most of the other furniture in the room is just some random hand-me-down stuff, so I've tried to make it work best I can. My biggest struggle with reorganizing the room has been figuring out where the bed could go, since that tends to dictate where the rest of the furniture goes. I would like to avoid purchasing any new furniture, but would be willing to do so if completely necessary.
Some of the problems I aim to solve would be allowing myself to have better control over the lighting in my room, to improve the overall vibe, and potentially make it feel more spacious. As it stands now, the room is rather well-lit, but it can feel a bit uneven, and having the torchiere where it is makes the rocking chair feel awkward to use, but unfortunately I can't put it right in the middle of the room, since the ceiling light fixture is a drop-down chandelier.
I would appreciate any and all advice!
