Single Room Apartment

Hey y'all. I made a bunch of small renders of my apartment because I am a bit lost and don't know what to do with this space. It's pretty small and the layout is not ideal. I just know that I don't want my desk in front of the window anymore because I keep the blinds shut at all times and don't have good access to the windows this way.
The first image is how I have it currently laid out and then I just tried a bunch of variations digitally. Personally, I think the last 2D layout (image 4) makes the most sense with the console at the window but I have looked at so many variations that I am not trusting myself anymore on this.

For reference of what the objects are, i included a 3D render on the last image. Also, this is my landlords furniture so I can't really do all that much to change things although I wish I had more useful furniture and space. The kitchen is indeed open, there is no door there. The only door in the layout leads to a tiny hallway and the bathroom (essentially the apartment would be a rectangle and not an L if I drew in the hallway and bathroom).
I don't have a TV but I got this big TV console, it is what it is. On my desk there is obviously my computer, monitors etc.
On the trolley is my small microwave oven because it couldn't fit in the tiny kitchen.

Would appreciate any input and will happily answer any questions, thank you.

Any other arrangement recommendations?

My dad had suggested maybe putting the TV where the bookshelves will be and put the big couch where the TV currently is... I don't like the distance away that puts the TV from the couch as that's not good for eye strain...

I would potentially like to try something that doesn't directly focus all the seating towards the TV, but still makes it possible to easily view the TV when watching something... If that seems feasible with the layout... In general though I just want to try something different and new to the space... It feels difficult to think of anything else though with the spaces that need to stay open for walking access...

Edited to add: I'm on mobile so I can't change the photo... The window is located behind where the 2 person couch currently is.

Dorm Layout Help

Hi! I'm an incoming college freshman and my roommate and I are planning our dorm right now. We have a bit of an oddly shaped room and are trying to figure out the best layout so we can both have nice spaces.

My school has two proposed layouts but we can move stuff wherever we want. The biggest issue to me is bed placement because both layouts feel like they'd produce awkward energy (facing each other in the first and no headboard for the second).

We're just looking for any ideas or things to keep in mind as we plan the space. Please feel free to ask any more questions. Thank you!

Please help mom wants to change my room

Someone help asap my mom is saying that the 3rd photo is the better option for me to sleep but the thing is I don’t feel good this way and I hate it I feel way too exposed because of the room entrance and the fact that the headboard is on a shared wall with my moms room and just overall it doesn’t feel balanced But my mom keeps arguing with me that I’m a kua 4 she says it’s better for me because im a kua 4 my feet woudl be facing North and my head would be in the wall thats south west I think. Also btw i already put liek a room devider infornt if TEH bathroom door and a curtain where the entrance to the room is she is convinced this is the best but I don’t feel like it is the first layout just feels more harmonized made more sense like now the first thing yiu see when you walk in is the bed and i hate it it feels very exposed someone please help my mom is very stubborn. Edit can some one please help she’s still stubborn about this kua 4 and sunrise and set set whatver i moved my bed back to the first layout and then she threatened to not pay for anything or help me idk what to do :( soo i had to move my bed how she wants it even tho it feels very bad

Small Studio Apartment. Stuck on what to do with couch.

To the left is the kitchenette, which is a countertop along the entire wall with the very end bit with a built in desk/sitting space to eat by the back door. The bed is an installed murphy bed, can't change positioning. TV is supplied by building, wall mounted. Couch is right up beside the door frame as you walk in. I bought a large area rug, but having the layout like this just feels wrong.

It felt a little more cozy with the couch at the end of the bed, but then it was facing the kitchen, unable to put a media stand, so you're just staring at the kitchen.

Plans were with this current layout to put in an ikea bookshelf beside the couch to the right to separate the space from the bedroom, and then have a very very slim tv stand and tv in front of it if I could find one narrow enough to fit that foot space before the bathroom door, otherwise it blocks the bed access and closet access. But then also two ugly TVs next to eachother (plans to hide the wall mounted one with a large piece of art overtop and make it a gallery wall)

Used a floorplan designer online, the space is smaller than it appears to be, especially in the living room. Also that ugly blue cube ottoman is gone and the blue sheets are ditched.

There’s nothing I can do to help this situation is there?

Sucks that I can’t turn my bed around to face the window. I feel like there’s nothing I can do to change the space right?

Exposed beam in ceiling - cure?

I'm currently browsing around for a house and found something that I like. It has most of the Feng Shui qualities I like such as door facing a favorable direction (based on Kua number), flow, and other elements. The only negative side is that there is a single cement beam in the main bedroom which I know is big "no-no" in Feng Shui. I do think one would be able to remodel this and put up a false ceiling to cover the beam - would that be a 100% cure? Would hiding a negative element but enough or the fact that there is a beam anyway bad? The beam would not be at the head of the bed but would chop off the foot of the bed if that makes sense.

Also, is an exposed beam as bad as a house facing a Chueh Ming (total loss) direction?

Bed placement?!

My first apartment!! What do you guys think of the bed placement in the photo provided? Would you move it? Keep it there and add a room divider to block the door?
Thank you!!

Please help with my tiny apartment bedroom

The pic makes it look way bigger than it really is, it’s basically a small square. The top thing is a window that’s smack dab in the middle of the wall and takes up most of it, then there’s a single door on the right that’s also right in the middle, and the doors on the bottom are double doors (also take up way more space than what the pic conveys) which lead to the walk in closet, which I prefer to keep closed. I literally can’t put my queen bed anywhere that doesn’t face a door.

Advice needed for small, awkward living room

Just moved into a unit with a much smaller living area. Need advice on handling the corner fireplace. I’m leaning towards using the couch as is to split the room and getting a nice wooden tripod for the TV to kind of be elevated next to the fireplace (roughly where it is now) and ditching the entertainment system in the photos.

A friend suggested getting rid of my cafe table and chair and just using bar stools for the super tiny kitchen cutout but that’s a bit extreme I think. Any advice is appreciated!

Bonus points if you have suggesting for squeezing a cat condo and litter box (currently in a small spare bedroom upstairs that I’m trying to free up)

Thanks all!!

Help me maximize this narrow loft living space after buying an 86” sofa (photos)

I could really use some fresh ideas.
I recently moved into this loft and made the mistake of buying an 86” cream sofa that I can’t return, so I have to design around it. After trying several layouts, I think against the windows is the only placement that really works, but I’m open to being proven wrong.
Now I’m trying to figure out the best use of the remaining narrow space so it works for both everyday living and entertaining.
A few details:
One bedroom downstairs, one upstairs, plus an open loft area upstairs and a large private terrace, so not everything has to happen in the main living area.
I work from home and want the space to function well day to day.
I love hosting friends and would like to incorporate a proper dining area if possible.
I don’t currently own a dining table or TV, so I’m open to layout ideas and furniture suggestions.
The kitchen island is 48” high, so it’s not practical for everyday dining.
If this were your loft, how would you lay it out? I’m open to any ideas—layout, furniture, TV placement, dining setup, or anything else you think would make the space more functional. I think I’ve stared at this space for too long and need some fresh eyes.

Thank you!

small room stuck in coffin position + mirror

am i screwed? long story short, my parents moved houses 3 years ago while i was away for college. and after coming back, i got the tiny room, and so there is literally no way that i could move my bed.

i’m in a position where the door is directly opposite my bed, along with a mirror, and behind me is a sliding door window. i swear, ever since moving here, i haven’t been get any sleep and have had bad luck with employment, loss of motivation and even depression. obviously can’t blame it all on my room but i right felt that something was off when i moved here. doesn’t help that it’s right in front of the kitchen and so i can hear everything going on at all times when anyone wakes up. i’m at a loss at what to do. i considered getting a bed with a board at the end but i can’t tell if i’ll find one small enough to fit.

Bedroom Dresser In a MCM-ish/ Desert-y Space?

Hi everyone, need some assistance for our new-to-us bedroom.

We have a black walnut king bed (80.5"W, Stickley Walnut Grove Studio Bed) with 24"W walnut nightstands (Poly and Bark Marla) that are anchored on a 9x12 (Safavieh Wyndham WYD722A), that creates a nested, comfy space... I think. Our walls throughout are SW Big Chill (which we are open to eventually painting- possibly cheviot?), and the flooring is Solidity/Happy Floors Chinchilla LVP that can pull cool or sometimes a smidge warm.

However, on the opposite side of the bed, we have massively long wall (20') that is sitting completely naked. We are in desperate need of a dresser/ storage and I am lost as to what size and wood/ material to use. The room was designed to have the bed under the horizontal window, so moving the bed probably isn't an option.

I've marked out common sizes (60"W, 72"W, and 84"W and 34"H) but am at a loss for what would functionally work best. Scale is tough for me in this space as our ceilings are 10'. Smaller and add a chair? Larger and forego seating? Would a bench at the end of the bed cause the area to be too cramped?

What about wood pairings for the dresser? I am concerned if we add more walnut the room will begin to feel cramped and heavy- which I need to avoid. I know oak can complement walnut, but what tone? I am shopping online only and am terrified of getting something too grey, too yellow, too ... yuck.

Function and flow are absolute musts. We want to be able to walk in our room and have it be a haven and provide respite rather than a standard room with few pieces of furniture or in a cave.

I'd appreciate any and all help! TIA

Age old question, where do we put the bed!!

My partner thinks we should put it by the wall in front of the door to the ensuite to maximise space. I am worried about the stink from his poops and the light blasting at me at 2am in the morning.

I think it should be on the same wall as the door to the ensuite but he says it would massively reduce the space in the bedroom.

What do you guys think? Thanks for the help!

I have a spare twin bed in my room that I can’t remove. Please help

I’d like to turn it into something useful, like a couch of some kind. I’d like to put the chair against the other window to catch the sunlight, but that would leave the spare bed in the middle of the room with no way to add back support. Please help. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

help with bed position

i know all the basic rules, but.... our room is very small and has a door or window on every wall. we are about to get the ikea MANDAL bed from fb marketplace and i'm considering if rearranging and installing the matching headboard over a window would work. this is the layout i'm considering. puts us in the command position and is where it *feels* like the bed should be when. you are in the room.

thoughts? the window faces the street, which is occasionally busy. we'd have a sheer curtain over it, and are considering installing an automated blackout blind -- covering it is not an option, i need sunlight to wake up. one consideration is that the closet would be open facing toward our heads. (weird L part represents the closet, which is more enclosed than the ikea designer allows for). i've had several beds in different positions inside the room and they've never felt right.

any considerations or other potential arrangements?

help please!

No idea how to make this set up work! Any help would be appreciated.

Based off where I live I would prefer the bed be kept to the right side of the room and the rug be used as a useable area.

Couch / Living Room layout

Hello! I’m moving into an apartment soon and am wondering how to fix the feng shui of this living room layout. The biggest issue is that the back of the couch is facing the front door. I don’t want to put the couch against the window wall because the TV would be too far. Similarly, I don’t want to put the couch against the right wall because I don’t want the TV to be against the window.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can rearrange my furniture, or if i should add any decor (plants, shelving, partitions, etc.) to help the energy flow better please let me know. Thank you!
