Why I think reading Feng Shui from a floor plan alone is one of the most misleading ways to do it
You have to look at the external environment first. If there are major issues outside the house — for example, a road pointing directly at the house or a curved road wrapping around it — then a "perfect" floor plan isn't necessarily going to make much difference.
If the external environment doesn't have any major problems, then I'd look at how the house receives Qi from the outside, mainly through things like doors and windows. Even the size and angle of a window can affect how Qi enters the space.
If that part looks okay, then I'd look at where people actually spend a lot of their time inside the house — the bed, desk/work area, sofa, etc. Those positions can have their own issues as well.
So even if two houses have exactly the same floor plan, the actual layout and furniture arrangement can be completely different. And from a traditional Feng Shui perspective, that means you can't really give the same answer to everyone just from looking at the floor plan.
I see a lot of posts here where people drop a floor plan and ask for a full reading, and honestly it's kind of hard to give a useful answer without knowing anything about the outside.
Curious what other people's approach is — do you work from the outside in too?
