What finally worked to mitigate constant styes

I can’t be so hasty to say I’ve put a definitive end to them, although I hope that’s what this is. While I’ve only been testing this hypothesis for a month, I’ve seen tremendous improvement. Haven’t gotten a single stye during this time, when usually at least 2 would have popped up by now.

2020 called for a moratorium on makeup wipes. Every dermatologically inclined voice on the internet told us we needed to be cleansing our faces with something oil-based to remove makeup. And it does work like a charm. It wasn’t until 6 years and probably hundreds of styes later that I made the connection between switching to oil cleansing and getting styes.

I loved the Palmer’s oil cleanser. Worked tremendously without stinging. It boasts every single oil on this earth as part of its ingredient list. I can’t be sure which, if only a singular one, triggers my styes and I don’t care to find out. I’ve quit the oils around my eyes cold turkey. I still don’t wish to pull and tug at my skin with a makeup wipe, so I’ve been enjoying the Neutrogena Oil Free Makeup Cleansing Solution on my eyes followed by a gentle water-based gel. It is extremely gentle and effective.

I know there are several causes of styes. If you’ve been suffering from them seemingly endlessly and this situation is applicable to you, this is really worth a go. Wishing you only the flattest and least irritated lash line for life.
