ubuntu repo keeps requesting connection to tor circuit

hey everyone ,

long story short I'm sometimes bored and I like to mess about with the PC. So i thought I'd look into setting up proxies manually. I also had tor browser installed. So anyway when I go try to update my packages via ubuntu repos in terminal i get this message :

Could not connect to 127.0.0.1:9050 (127.0.0.1). - connect (111: Connection refused)

prior to this message It would state that "this is not a http connection" or " this is running on the Tor network" etc. so after some researching I understalled Tor browser and literally purged the app. However , I'm still getting this error and so I sumised that 127.0.0.1 is a proxy on a loopback and so ubuntu when updating is trying to connect to the proxy instead of my locat router network i.p

How do I remove the proxy and set it to my current i.p?

btw, I found a file called "torrc" file which gives instructions toenable / disable proxies but which I cannot make any sense of . If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate some help thanks.

editing pre-made grid in gimp...

Ive created this grid via the filters option (filters -> render -> pattern -> grid). I was wondering is it possible to edit the grid i.e specifically delete parts of the grid by using the rubber tool or free select and cutting it ?. Iv'e tried both ways but with no success.

EDIT : ok, i figured it out .export the grid as png . then reload the image into gimp. you can now edit the grid
