Vernon Dursley is such an unintentionally hilarious character.
He really loves Petunia. He has no magical family and no real reason to believe in any of it (before Harry showed first signs of wandless magic as a child, that is), yet not only did he believe Petunia, when she told him her sister was a witch, but he also joined her in her fanatical hatred of it all.
Imagine if someone told you that unicorns are real and also that they really, really suck.
