So I’ve had this problem for over a year now and i just can’t figure out what is causing it..

When I am in the highest gear, the chain is getting pulled slightly inwards so that it just barely catches the adjacent sprocket causing this jumpy motion and grinding noise when I am actually cycling. It gets worse with tension when I am pushing hard into the pedals.

What I have tried is:
Aligning the front and rear derailleurs.
Changing the chain and sprockets (yes I know they don’t look so great right now).
Tried to realign the mech hanger and ultimately replaced it.

Anybody got any ideas?
